A solution of H2 saturated saline was injected into rats with pulmonary fibrosis. It appears the fibrosis was much improved.
"H2 abolishes the increase in TGF‑β1 and its downstream genes induced by pressure overload. TGF-β1 serves a key role in the
development of cardiac fibrosis."
If you remember back to the Xiaflex trials, there was a statistically significant improvement in the control group who were receiving saline injections. While not saturated with H2, the saline solution certainly contains some free H2. Could this have been the reason for the improvement? Maybe.
In my opinion, it is down to who is injecting, not what is injected.
But I am not an urologist, so is my private opinion.

I 100% agree with James.

what does "pressure overload" exactly mean?
