Title: Has anyone had lumps dissapear?
Post by: thegreycat on May 26, 2023, 03:52:22 AM
Hi all

Looking specifically for the experiences of people who've had palpable plaques disappear or reduce significantly please.

Due to a traction injury, I have upped my VED intensity, increasing to twice per day, longer sessions, higher pressures and longer holds. All of course while being careful, but I feel I have honed a VED protocol that feels like it really is applying a stretch.

I also did a short stint of intermittent fasting, 18:4, but only for a week so I doubt it's that.

Anyway, the original lump that I found on the left hand side of my shaft back in February 2022 is gone and appears to have shrunk quite fast over the course of around 2 weeks, first I noticed it was a bit smaller, then a lot smaller, and now it's gone.

Gone as in, if I really really search for it, I can sometimes still find it, but given that this is something I've easily and immediately palpated hundreds of times a week for nearly 16 months, I'm at a bit of a loss.

It hasn't affected my deformity, I must stress. In the VED, there is still a big dent where my bend is, which doesn't really fill out. However, this dent "starts" where the lump was... if that makes sense.

My lump came first, and I had around 2 or 3 months of having a palpable lump with no dent, deformity or pain.... then those things followed.

So my question for people who've had palpable lumps disappear or reduce significantly is this: Was there any change in the weeks or months afterward to your deformity? Did the lumps come back or were they gone forever?

Obviously I'm pleased, if for no other reason I'm no longer feeling a lump several times a day, but I don't want to get ahead of myself and get all excited over what may just be a red herring.

I appreciate this is a wide question, just curious.

Thanks!

I can say that the 3 lumps that I  had disappeared after 2 years. I still do daily traction and VED occasionally .

Yes, in 2013 I developed two lumps or nodules that were easily palpable. Some indentations then became evident in the weeks thereafter. I started taking Pentox twice a day or perhaps three times, I can't recall. After about a year, or perhaps a little longer, I noticed the lumps shrank and pretty much disappeared. If I were to really dig for them, perhaps I could feel traces, but I don't like to do that. They were palpably gone.

I must add, more than a year into the Pentox, a third lump materialized. So I discount Pentox as having done anything to cure these nodules - if I arew a new one while on the drug, I don't see how it was effective. It must have simply been the natural course of my personal "kind" of Peyronies.

Over the ensuing months, after the nodules went away, my indentations did indeed fill out again. So I consider that particular bout of Peyronies Disease to have resolved successfully - took about 2+ years in total.

Unfortunately, a new bout started in 2021, so clearly this is something I'll deal with for life.

But yes, nodules/lumps can go away. My guess is that these are not classic "calcifications" of Peyronies Disease - these are local tissue inflammations that can and do shrink. Calcifications would be the more classic Peyronies scarring.

Best,
nemo

I am hoping this is the case here.

Thanks for your reply.
