Title: Old Man - Tribute to The longest Active Member
Post by: Hawk on August 23, 2019, 09:57:28 AM
Old Man was the 11th member to join this forum 14 years ago yesterday.  Even then, he was a legend on the other two crazy Peyronies Disease forums of the day, long before I came along as a newbie.

For those that don't know about our origins, the early days were tough because we were being attacked by other forums that tried to prevent our start.  We had members of other forums join just to sabotage our efforts.  It was a crazy time.  Our first effort was a free forum.  Old Man trusted our sincerity and joined with the screen name he had used on the other forums.  His presence gave us legitimacy and credibility that brought several other good members from the other forums. It was instrumental in helping us succeed with a very fragile start.  Within several weeks, we realized we would outgrow the free forum and Joshua and I set up this forum and began cutting and pasting old posts since migration was impossible.  As soon as we fired this forum up and had it ready for login we told our approximately 35 members.  Old Man registered here on our first day of actual operation 8/22/2005.   Other than myself he is the only member still active out of that group 14 years ago.

Old Man was our oldest member then at 75 years old (almost 76)  and no one has ever caught him for that title.  He fought Peyronies Disease from a very youthful 24 years old from an injury.  He preached the VED for years before almost any urologist in the country did anything but scoff at a VED for restoring length or straightening deformity from Peyronies.  After years of success by forum members, they discovered its benefits.  Though his own condition was stabilized, Old Man knew what he went through and stayed to help others.  He is a man of integrity and service.  When he battled prostate cancer he helped support other men facing the same battle through the American Cancer Society.

Though we have never met, we have spoken on the phone and I count him as a dear friend.  Congratulations Old Man for being the oldest member and the longest active member on the biggest, best, site for men and their partners on the internet.  Thank you for sticking with the effort long after others drifted away.

Oldman is a huge asset to this forum. I love that he is so receptive to members and he was very welcoming to me when I joined the forum and helping me learn about Peyronies.

We are so lucky to have him with us.

Hey Guys:

OK, I know that things have changed for me on this forum over the almost 15 years of contributing to it. I have gained a lot of knowledge myself as well as imparting my knowledge on how to use the VED therapy successfully. And, use the VED as an excellent tool for making repairs to injured penises, how to overcome ED and in general just get an injured penis well again. I have had some bad times but more good times gaining friendships all over the world. At one time or another, I had the honor of assisting high level officials of countries all over the world with Peyronies Disease and ED problems.

Now, I will have (unless circumstances prevent) reached the old age of 90 years on the 15th of September this year. I have seen many presidents of the USA come and go. I have seen many changes in the military of this country and so many other areas of life that I just can't seem to be able to find a way to describe. During my 42 years of public and military work, I have seen changes all the way from the Ford Model T and A to the modern vehicles pf today. Amazing to me for the technology we see today. Hope to live long enough to see more changes coming soon before I leave this old world!!

So, bottom line, I really appreciate all the good words being said about me, but I have to give credit to a higher power than man. To live this long, see the many changes of life on this planet, many changes in the environment and oh so many other areas is a blessing!!

Thanks for all the credit being given for my service. It is and has been a pleasure to just open the forum each and every day with the exception of time out for surgeries. My old body is now growing older and more deteriorated every day. Especially my hands which are again giving over to DC with several surgeries which I can't engage much further. So, typing now becomes a chore making my posts less and less.

Just remember though that as long as my two ''new computers'' (built by someone else now) work I will remain on the forum and at least be reading your posts and trying to answer PMs.

Yours truly and may God Bless all of my forum members.

pfract:

No, I have not. My wife has a new iPhone with voice over diction. We have not tried to activate that on her phone. I have two new computers that were built for me by a computer expert with Win10 and they have a lot of features that we have not tried to use. It might already be on them, but not having tried to activate, we don't know, etc.

This friend now has a lot of medical problems and does not do much work on computers now. I will look into this though. I am sure that Win10 will support this feature. Both computers were built on high end components.

Thanks for reminding me about this feature.

The programs work fairly well if it learns your voice and how you speak. An example is closed caption on television. Notice how some news broadcasts the captioning if very good and some it is gobblty gook? Watch closer and you will notice that the captioning will be spot on with 1 reporter and a complete wreck of jumbled words with the next.   The program sometimes takes a bit of training to learn you but works well.  Accents and soft voices I think are the main cause for it substituting incorrect words. Give it a try. Kuddos to hot rod computers. I quit building my own too. Now I have college kids that build gaming computers build them for me. 24 gig ram to send emails? So what?  It doesn't lag around.  Cheers.

I believe we started to share PM's shortly after I joined the forum 12 years ago now. I feel like we have been life long friends but have never had the opportunity to meet.   Many thanks to you sir   ;-)

Old Man;
Thanks for hanging around.  I notice that MANY members get on these forums, ask questions, hang around to get treatment and ask several post op questions and once they no longer have issues, they just never log in again.  It's the senior members hanging around, that make these forums informative and provide the answers to the questions that are asked.  Although I am fairly new to THIS forum, I have been around, and I can say your contribution to this forum is appreciated and not gone unnoticed. :)

Happy anniversary Older than me Man,
Thanks for welcoming me to the forum and actually caring about my life and well being.
Stay well, I wouldn't want to be the oldest member lol.

Your birthday is the day before my wife's and my 59th wedding anniversary.

As a military member I am always thanked for my service.. When I was at the "other forum" I was frequently thanked for my service... well Old Man, I say to you,

To some people this is a very uncomfortable subject and at one time I too did not want to discuss this very embarrassing topic. After, what seems like hundreds, of female doctors, nurses and students, have looked at my package, I am no longer uncomfortable.  Those of you that have somewhere near my history will completely understand.

It seems the more you discuss it, the more you learn and the more valuable you are to this site (and the others).

Thank you Old Man, for what you do here, your knowledge and experience is in invaluable. :) :)

Thank you Old Man! I just logged in for the first time in years. Old Man took the time years ago to send me a very detailed PM.

Thanks from a grateful anonymous Internet stranger!!!
