Title: one vs two shots per round?
Post by: Dros on April 18, 2016, 04:38:47 AM
Hey Everyone

After my experience with PRP has been mixed at best, I finally decided to pay for Xiaflex treatment (my insurance will not cover it). I realize that the standard protocol is to have two shots per round, however, as I have to pay the costs out of my own pocket and I'm short on cash anyway, I was wondering whether anyone has had any experience with doctors who only inject one shot per round. If so, how are the results? Does anyone know the reason why they recommend two shots? The price per shot is approx. 1500 Euro where I live...

Cheers

1500€ ?  You are so fortunate.  Here the drug price has gone up to $10,000/injection.  Last year they were $8000 for me.  I had 4 injections.  I've had 2 this year = $20,000 and will get 2 more in a week; another $20,000.  Fortunately my insurance will pay.  It is an enormous cost.  I'm surprised the government doesn't step in and do something.

you are the fortunate one if your insurance covers the costs ;-)
