I am a 74 year old man and never had problems with ED or Peyronie's until 18 months ago. I had some major health problems and ended up with a 2 week stay in icu and 4 months in the hospital. During that time, I was catharized for much of it. Dr. thinks it was the catheter that caused the problem. Now have a slight bend to the left and plaque on top with an upward curve of about 30 degrees. I use a VED daily and am taking Viagra, vitamin E and L-Arginine. I have noticed some improvement in the curve, but the upward bend has gotten worse. I am having considerable pain when erect, and Have lost a couple inches in length, and a lot in girth. My dr. is uncomfortable prescribing pentox, and I'm planning on trying to convince him one more time. Are there any recent studies on pentox, the newest I have found is from 2006.
I don't believe any further research (probably because it's generic and no money in it) however it is commonly prescribed by urologists treating peyronies.
What is he afraid of? Side effects of pentox are very mild. Doctors like that really pi$$ me off.
So he wants you to provide more reasons for him to prescribe it despite already showing him studies, while he provides you with zero reasons not to prescribe it, other than he's 'uncomfortable' for no stated reason.
Studies aren't milk, they don't go out of date. A 2006 study is just as valid today as then, unless there have been studies in the meantime disproving it.
Maybe tell him the leading Peyronie's experts in the world, who know far more about this than him, prescribe pentox.
thanks skunkworks, and tsanchez. I am giving him one more chance, I just hate to start over with a new dr. they will want to do their own tests, and doctors being doctors, don't like to be told anything.

I completely agree with skunkworks. If these doctors were in our shoes they'd prescribe themselves anything they can that has the slightest potential of helping.
