Title: New here
Post by: herbie7159 on August 02, 2021, 12:23:28 PM
Not sure where to start on this. I am 42 and have Peyronies with a curve 70 to 90 degree up so he is looking at me.  This last Friday 7/30/21  was my 8th and last injection of Xiaflex, and so far NOTHING has helped with this curve. I am at the end of what to do next, and hope this place can help.  I don't really have a person to talk too about this that will understand. I can get erections just fine with no issues, but this curve makes it hard to have sex.

Well off to look around the boards and see what I can find.

Herbie,
Suggest you read the following if you haven't done so already. Good compilation of some introductory material. Also many on here who are willing to talk and help.

Hello Herbie, and welcome. I'm sorry you're dealing with this infernal disease.

You've done a lot by seeking treatment and enduring all the Xiaflex shots. I'm really sorry they didn't help you.

I think you'll find that many here have had some success with penile traction, and there are some studies that prove its effectiveness. Do I think it will cure your Peyronie's? No, but there are many who achieve a reduction in curvature through use of traction. And if you were to get your curvature reduced to a manageable degree, it would make sex much easier, and you may well simply adjust to the "new you" and be content for the rest of your life.

If I were you, I think I'd make that high on my list of priorities to investigate.

Beyond that, there are surgical interventions to straighten the penis. I'm sure you've probably discussed these with your Uro, but that would be a more invasive, but more instantly impactful intervention.

Just a couple thoughts. And again, welcome to the forum.

Regards,
Nemo

Thanks Nero.

The Uro wants to wait the 6weeks to see if the last set of shots works, before we talk Surgical. So I found this place after try to find anything to help me make up my mind as I wait. All I have been doing is reading this site while working all day, it has already help me get my mind right about this.

Herbie, Welcome

If you have a 70 to 90-degree curve, "some improvement" is of no value to you at all.  Your solution is going to come in the form of surgery.  the first rule of surgery is to educate yourself, and never let anyone but a High-volume renowned specialist cut on your penis.

Your two options are excision/grafting or an inflatable implant.

The implant is a less traumatic surgery (the actual surgery is 15-30 minutes with faster healing) and addresses any Erectile Dysfunction.  At your age, however, you would likely need a revision. You are likely to need a revision or two in your lifetime.

Do you have any degree of Erectile Dysfunction?

Hello, and welcome to the forum.  Based on what you shared, your age, type of angulation and history are similar to mine.  I also had a 70-90 degree bend and now am perfectly straight after 66 months of RestoreX tracking and dot (Dr. Tom Lue type procedure performed by Dr. Brian Christine) Plication.   My full history is here, hope it helps and I really hope you get back on track soon.  As stated above, there are options, but you will have to research and do the time to figure out what is best for you.
