Title: 3 months into Peyronies
Post by: Steveo on August 18, 2014, 02:48:32 PM
I'm 38 years old.  Six months ago I injured my penis when a girl gave me a handjob that was far too... "aggressive" shall we say.

The next day there was some blood in my urine and generalized pain in the penis.  A couple of weeks later there was a small nodule the size of a pea, centered in the shaft of the penis just below the head.  This began to grow, over months, until there was a hardening (and pain) in a band across the dorsal (upper) side of my penis, just below the head.

I diagnosed myself with Peyronies about 3 months ago after extensive internet research.   My penis bends upward, but since the hardening is just below the head, only the head bends up.  There is no hourglassing or ED.  There is some pain and a feeling of pressure when at full erection and I can palpate the hardened part when not erect.

I have begun a regimen of Coenzyme Q10 300mg/day and am thinking of ordering Oxpentifylline, though that's pretty expensive.  Not sure what else to do.

I just signed up for health insurance, which is taking forever, and haven't been able to see a doctor about the condition.

Any tips?

Also, I just ordered a VED and will begin a 1g 2x/day L-Carnitine regimen today.

Best chances to stop the disease from advancing is threaten it early.
A good treatment in my opinion will be VED (carefully not to over-pump), Pentox, low dose Cialis and CoQ10.
I am also proposing you to see a Peyronies specialist to confirm that you have Peyronies.

Title: Does sclerosing lymphangitis cause penile curvature?

Didn't really see a subforum where this question fit, so I'll put it here...

Does sclerosing lymphangitis cause curvature of the penis, like Peyronie's does?

Everyone gets one topic in the introductory board, this is the reason I merged your topics.

Stevio,

I contracted my Peyronie's the same way, an overly aggressive hand job. I believe that squeezing and stroking too hard on a semi-erect penis injured the Tunica Albuginea. Damn, I won't ever forget that lesson.

Sounds like you're on the right track, starting treatment early.

Make sure you're taking Acetyl L-Carnitine, and not just L-Carnitine. The Peyronie's study was on Acetyl L-Carnitine versus Pentox, and it showed that the former was more effective and with fewer side effects. Bonus that it doesn't require prescription.

Good luck with the health insurance. If a doc suggest verapamil injections, a word of caution - my deformity got much worse during the treatment, after having been stable for almost a year. Xiaflex is unquestionably benefitting me, though.

In my opinion, refuse getting Verapamil injection. I don't understand why some doctors still proposing it when Xiaflex is available.
If you will go to the Verapamil board, you will find out that not too many people benefited from it.
