I've been to 3 different urologists and all say the same thing... oral treatments do not work. Including pentox and cialis... Am I just going to uniformed urologists? Are there new studies disputing the efficacy of these drugs?

Different studies that have been published so far have learned us that pentox is good against inflammation and early fibrosis as it tackles TGF-B. You can read the reasearch and present it to your next uro. Find someone who is specialized in andrology. Every authority in this domain (Lue, Levine...) prescribes pentox.
Does pentox only work in the acute phase?
It's used acute and chronic stages, but best to start early.
I have the same issue. I found this article: https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC4708157/ and plan on printing it out and showing my urologist, who is a fan of Tom Lue, so I can hopefully get it prescribed instead of spending $85 plus tax and international shipping for a 20-day supply of 3x400mg

When I asked dr. Kheuass about pentox, he said the early results that were published have been disproved.
He seemed to think the results were made up to get the drug out into the market place.
Which has now been proven.
So he held no value in it, but he is a surgeon and that's where he makes his money.

I'm assuming by "disproved" he's talking of the only placebo controlled, double-blind study: https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/19863517 which was retracted. The ones I linked were not retracted, and on top of that we have anecdotal evidence from some of our members, although a placebo controlled double-blind study would most certainly be nice.

I'll say this. 4 days after being started on pentox, all of my erection pain was gone and that means a lot to me. Mine started in Feb and I was diagnosed in April by a general urologist who started me on it. Ive been seeing a men's sexual health specialist/urologists and he has kept me on the pentox all through my Xiaflex treatments too. It damn sure hasn't hurt anything and I feel that it stopped the progression of the condition very rapidly. I've never had a single moment of discomfort taking it either.
I was about 18 months in before I started taking Pentox...
Wondering if this is classed as early chronic or chronic as I haven't really noticed any improvements after 4 months on 3*400 still I will continue to take it and hope.
Yeah, after 18 mo, I'd definitely say chronic.
So there's like, no hope of this improving with any of these "treatments" here?

I'm going to do a water fast soon. If I see good benefits (as other people have) that may be something you can try as well.
What is considered enough time to know that pentox won't work? 6 months?
Haven't heard of anyone here that has had any success in the chronic stage apart from James but I'm trying to stay positive as this is probably my last hope apart from an implant.
Anyone else made any progress in the chronic stage?
And let me know if the water fast does anything but i doubt it will help me if everything i have done already doesn't.
