I was fortunate to never having had Peyronies Disease. Hawk suggested that I could possibly help, so I lurk here.
My doctor refused to do a stretch nor even want to know what I thought my size would be.

He was right and was mildly aggressive with sizing and I gained about a CM after surgery.
If you are able, I would recommend using a VED before your surgical date.

Xiaflex Injections / Re: Xiaflex in New York City
Last post by Rbd87 - Yesterday at 07:18:36 PM
Quote from: nycpdguy on April 12, 2024, 01:46:08 PMHey RBD87 - hope you're doing well.

Seems like we're in pretty similar boats as 36 year olds in NYC with symptoms that started around the same time (I was August 2022). I had a 2 rounds of measurements and an ultrasound by Dr. Najari, but ended up getting a third opinion and going with Dr. Mulhall at MSK for my treamtment. That said, Dr. Najari was so thorough and really took his time with me. He definitely spent more time than Mulhall ever has, but here I am - having just had my first Xiaflex injection yesterday from Mulhall.

I'm really keen to here how you're progressing, any improvements you're seeing since you're a bit further along with Xiaflex, and what the traction protocol looks like.

Are you using RestoreX? How many times a day and for how long? And when did you start with molding and traction after your injections?

For context, I had injection #1 yesterday and my second will be next week (7 days later). I'm instructed to begin traction 7 days from that second injection, but this seems to be different from your timeline and definitely different from the aggresive methods of Dr. Trost in Utah.

Anyway, it would be amazing if you continue keeping us posted. I'm going to share an introductory thread of my own to chronicle my journey as well.

Wishing you all the best of luck - we got this, man.

Hello! Apologies, I'm just seeing this.

I think I'm progressing pretty well. It's been three weeks since my second round of injections and I'm continuing to see improvement!

I've been following the stretching instructions given to me which were three times a day for 30 seconds and one 30 second stretch when erect.

I haven't been using a traction device yet, but plan to discuss that with my doctor at my next appointment. To be honest I've been a little nervous to use the traction device and somehow cause more damage. I've read some Xiaflex horror stories that have given me a bit of caution in this whole process haha. But the three and one stretch routine seems to be working for me!

Next Thursday being my fourth week after the second round, I'll have measurements taken at the doctors and then I have round three two weeks after.

Wishing you all the best in your journey and I'll be following along on your updates!

Welcome to the forum WorriedDude. The first thing to do is for you to fill out your signature line -->Signature Line . Then you need to download and study our survival guide -->Survival Guide.

I am sorry to hear about your situation but here you will find some hope and guidance. You will probably never get a clear picture as to how you got the curvature or if it is actually peyronies. Men have had peyronies show up after having Covid for no apparent reason. Trimix is also a culprit for causing peyronies in some men. Finally a priapism has also been a factor in starting up peyronies but at this point it is not going to help you one bit to get an answer. You don't need more anxiety or worrying just know that you are not alone in this situation. All of us men here know exactly what you are experiencing and have found our way through it with a plan of action.

First know that there are very few peyornies Dr's who have the knowledge and experience. If you are close to Chicago or Utah there are two qualified Dr's I would recommend.

For you getting an erect ultrasound and a clear diagnosis should give you a better picture of what is going no in your penis. Pain is a clear indication of something going on and needs to be addressed.

Starting traction early in the acute stage is what a lot of us men have done to prevent shortening and loss of size. you will know just how long to use either one. The PMP is a more gentle traction and has to be worn for longer periods of time. The Restorex is more aggressive with shorter periods of time but with the added benefit of counter bending where your bend is.

You can also look into VED therapy as this does help with bringing in fresh blood supple with oxygen to heal. I have also personally had success with heat therapy for addressing pain and promoting healing.

Just get control over your worrying and obsessing over this. Anxiety does more damage than you realize. Read the forum and you will get a better understanding about treatments. This is to be approached with the mindset that this is a marathon and not a sprint. Peyronies is a healing disorder in the body caused by inflammation. In reducing inflammation you are helping your body heal. Be encouraged brother you are going to make it!  :)

I need you to clarify exactly what you are asking. I have had the PMP for almost 4 years mow and the Restorex for 3. In the beginning there was a learning curve for the PMP. I had issues with the base causing me pain where it contacted my pubic bone region after about an hour of wearing it. I tried cushioning it with silicone pads and small cut towels. The way I use it now is with thick round cotton makeup pads tucked under the base where it contact my skin. Is this the info that you were looking for?

Introduce Yourself / Crushed...and feeling like I g...

Hi everyone, I'm sorry for any tone of despair— I'm just trying not to lose it after the year from hell.

1.5 years ago (a month after my wife and I started trying for a baby) I got severe covid which became long covid— immune system dysregulation and systemic hyper-inflammation. I also got complete erectile dysfunction to the point where pills wouldn't work and 5 units of trimix didn't even work when the doctor injected me. He told me to try 10 units at home if 5 didn't work— so in January I injected myself (forgot to apply a cold compress afterwards)...and somehow I achieved a rock-hard, priaprismic erection that lasted for 4.5 hours before it finally went down (I was on the way to the ER when it finally went soft).

In the months since that nightmare, I regained the ability to get an erection with just oral Cialis, but the side that I injected (right side) has had an aching pain— sometimes during erections, sometimes after— and my penis curves to the right, but only in the early stages of erection before fully hard. When I have a full erection, it just feels...strained on the right side, but equally straight.

Sex with my wife was painful, and literally each time after I started to go soft, the erection seemed more crooked and I felt more of that aching pain.

I've vetoed sex, and I can't palpate any plaques, but in the last four months, the tissue on the right side just feels less elastic, more tough, and the pain after sex is in the same place as the injection was.

I'm going to the doctor to try to get an ultrasound and I bought the Restore-X and Penimaster Pro traction devices because I don't want my curve or my pain to get any worse, but I'm not sure if those devices would just traumatize the injury further.

Can anyone help me with actionable advice? I already have anxiety and PTSD and I feel like I'm drowning in despair. There are so many stressors adding up in life and with this on top of it, I feel like I just can't cope.

if the rods are moving up when you are increasing the tension, it's the PMP increasing the overall length of itself to increase the tension. For example if you add more length to the rods by adding the extension pieces to the top of the rod this won't happen because the rods are already long enough to give you sufficient tension.

To snap the glans chamber to the device, first lower the tension all the way down so the overall length of the rods is as short as it can be. Then once you've snapped the glans chamber in, then at that point increase the tension to the desired amount of tension that you need.

I started using PMP after suffering from peyronies and unhelpful urologists for 2-3 years. I love the device so far but I've had some issues getting the hang of it. My plaque is located on the underside of the base of my penis so I have to be very careful not to press into myself with the "ring" on the rod system but otherwise I can use it safely and comfortably. I just have some level of difficulty with compressing the rods, every time I try to do this the rods and the ring either move up or down. I can do it if I have another hand to stabilize but I also have to snap the glans chamber to the device and I only have two hands. Does anyone know the proper technique?

Welcome to the forum SquareEfficient and thank you for filling out your signature line. Hopefully you have read our survival guide -->Survival Guide . This is a comprehensiv e;ist of peyronies and it's different treatments.

Sorry to hear about your puppy accident. A 90* bend is definitely unusable in intercourse and needs some form of treatment. Traction and VED therapy is a good start that needs looking into. One thing you must understand about Xiaflex is the proficiency and experience of the Dr administering it. Dr Trost has an excellent patient success rate with Xiaflex because of his own developed treatment protocol. Also traction therapy is a must with Xiaflex, it stretches out the penis while letting the medication do it's job. If you haven't had any success so far I would wonder if you should actually continue with them with your current Dr?

Gong for an implant now is probably off the table because you can achieve an erection on your own. Surgery will reduce your size and since you are in the acute stage now you should wait until things slow down. I would start some form of traction with the Restorex and or PMP. Also implement VED therapy. Has your Dr talked to you about Cialis for erections? Search the forum and read some of the success stories surrounding Xiaflex and it's different outcomes.  :)

Introduce Yourself / Hello Introduction
Last post by SquareEfficient7618 - May 02, 2024, 06:58:10 PM
I am 54 years old and I have been diagnosed with Peyronie's Disease.  Honestly, I did not need a doctor's diagnosis to know what I had.  I developed a full 90 degree upward bend.  I swear it looks greater than 90 degrees curving backwards its that severe.  It was obvious.  When the bend popped up, I went from being perfectly straight to a 90 degree bend inside of 48 hours.  It took me around 5 days before I realized what was really going on.  I made an appointment with my urologist around after 2 weeks after the bend popped up and confirmed.

I already have an urologist since I have been treated for psychological ED for years and I am already on a Cialis prescription.  Although my urologist doesn't treat Peyronie's, I was switched to the other doctor in the office who is experienced with Xiaflex.

While most guys do not remember what was the trigger for their Peyronie's, I have a fairly good idea.  In Aug 2022 I was playing with my new puppy, who is a hyper Tasmanian devil.  I had a toy sitting in my lap.  She jumped on my lap and lunged at the toy and bit me in the dick by mistake.  She got me good and it did hurt for 10-15 min or so, but she never broke skin or drew blood.  I was wearing just a thin pair of shorts I sleep in.  It was almost like she bit my bare skin.  Had I been wearing jeans, she likely would not have bit me as hard and would not have been able to get a grip on what she bit.

Around Nov/Dec 2022 (don't quite remember when it started), I noticed some hardness in my dick and questioned myself "What is this?  Has it always been like this?  Is there something wrong?"  I had considered making an appointment to see my urologist right then, but I didn't since there didn't seem to be anything wrong.  In Feb 2023 I had a vasectomy.  Even though I was at the urologist for that, I did not mention the hardness I felt since I still didn't think anything was wrong.  In the beginning of March 2023, my bend popped up.  I went from being perfectly straight to a 90 degree bend inside of 48 hours.  It was that fast.

My urologist diagnosed the Peyronie's.  The second urologist confirmed it.  He said I was in the acute stage and prescribed Pentox.  In Sept 2023 I received my 1st round of Xiaflex.  I am now in the weeks after my 3rd round of Xiaflex.  I still have a full 90 degree upward bend with no improvements.  I believe I have taken to the treatments well.  They were completely painless or at least no worse than the sting of a novacaine shot.  I believe I have not lost any length.  If I have it is very slight.  The plaque has been reduced a good amount and my doctor says it feels much softer, but I have had no improvement at all. The only improvement I can state is the hourglass indentation is mostly gone.

I have a couple more weeks for my follow up appointment with my doctor to report that after 3 rounds, I still have not a single ounce of improvement.  I bought the RestoreX and started doing traction before my 1st Xiaflex treatment.  After watching one of Dr Trost's videos, I question whether or not my doctor is doing things right and if he can help me further.  How can Dr Trost see immediate improvement in his patients from a single treatment and I am still the same after 3 rounds?  Though after watching Dr Trost's video I did discover I am not quite using the RestoreX properly and to its full potential.  I will moving forward.

Things I question, my doctor never injected me to physically see and examine the bend himself.  He merely relied on pictures I provided.  I question where he is injecting the shots, especially after see Dr Trost's video on the subject.  My doctor also did the injections while I was fully flaccid, unlike what Dr Trost does. I asked my Dr about the traction device and he seemed indifferent to me using it.  The stretching routine they sent me home with seemed very light and I can't see how it can be very effective.

So I am here on these forums seeking direction on where I go next.  Do I move forward with a 4th round of Xiaflex?  I cannot leave this alone with a 90 degree bend.  Sex has only happened once since this happened.  It is beyond difficult and not even enjoyable.  Since I already have psychological ED, dealing with this issue has made it worse.  To make matters worse, I am single.  This has destroyed any attempts at even trying to date.  I have a lot hectic and bad things going on in my life and this just made things worse.  I'm slowly fixing the other things going on while dealing with this.

Most further Peyronie's treatments just reduce your length and size. Plication can't be an option since I'm at 90 degrees. I would never choose this option anyway.  Grafting reduces length and size and even erection strength.  This also does not seem appealing.  Do I go straight to an implant now?  Would any doctor recommend it when my natural erections are usual fine, as long as my psychological ED doesn't give me fits?

That's a lot of info, but I think it covers almost everything.  Hopefully my story wasn't too scattered and all over the place.
