Title: Marijuana and Peyronies relationship
Post by: SonWeather on April 01, 2019, 02:24:11 PM
Hey everyone, I think this is my first time posting here.

I am a bit surprised by the small amount of discussion about Peyronies and Marijuana. I know there is conflicting information, being that this drug is fairly new in the medical and recreation circuit, but what is the consensus about marijuanas relationship with peyronies? Can anyone point me in any direction that has information regarding this?

I smoke a lot of weed and it helps like a crutch for anxiety and depression for me, but if you can go without smoking it's better. I don't think I'm really worse of because I smoke weed, but it certainly never helped the situation. Using cannabis oil without thc is probably better than smoking it, but I'm not sure it will help peyronies. It can help with depression and anxiety though, even if you don't smoke and just take CBD supplements. Not sure if there is much researchon the topic.

I spoke with a guy who used to come on the forum who told me he thought it made his peyronies worse. It does lower oxygen count in the blood and that certainly doesn't sound helpful for peyronies

Hey guys,

As an occasional marijuana smoker (and now vaper), I've also been wondering about its relationship with Peyronies Disease... The thing is, and I don't want to say it too loud, I'm quite positive that marijuana helps for 24 - 48h with my inflammation pain (acute for 18+ months); and so does... alcool. BUT obviously I don't do them often, and would NOT recommend so, just because of all the other negative effects (poor sleep, dislipidemia, general metabolic toxicity, etc.)!

I smoked a lot of Marijuana. I'm pretty sure that it had a role in my Peyronie's Disease development due to its relation with androgen hormones. Google it.

Anything that takes away water/oxygen from your cells and slows down circulation and brain response (which marijuana and alcohol both do) seems like it would be harmful overall to tissue healing itself... which is what you need to improve Peyronie's.

I believe it is bad for peyronie's, as it is bad for circulation.

Anxiety has always been a big problem for me and I experience it on a daily basis. Smoking, depending on the day, can really help with anxiety and I like many others would like to grow my own cannabis https://dr-weedy.com/growing-recommendation/ I've had days where smoking has completely eliminated anxiety, which is most of the time, but some days it can also exacerbate it.

Marijuana is a dangerous thing, you know...It can be quite addictive to a lot of people. I've been through the state when you can do nothing against the addiction. I was treated in https://addictionresource.com/addiction-and-rehab-hotlines/ (https://addictionresource.com/addiction-and-rehab-hotlines/) It's a great rehab center providing professional help. You can also call the helpline absolutely free if you need to get all the necessary recommendations.

I agree that weed can be addictive. I'd say I'm probably addicted myself. But then again, I'm probably also addicted to gaming for example and I know that for me there is no big problem. I can go days without if I got no money, I'm actually on a tolerance break right now and while my anxiety depression is a bit worse the first two days after quitting, I don't notice any significant withdrawal symptoms. However, if you are prone to certain psychiatric disorders, like schizophrenia, weed can be very dangerous especially while still developing. I'm 25 right now, so I don't really fear any of that. If I where to develop any of that it would've already happened by now, and the amount of weed I buy hasn't increased in the last couple of year. Right now I'm happy allowing myself to only smoke at nighttime (not during the day) and with the occasional tolerance break here and there. Overall, I've been off weed completely for about a year or half a year and I didn't notice a significant impact on either my peyronies or mental health. But to be fair... I did notice that once I didn't use weed for months, I eventually started to enjoy day to day activities a little bit more while on weed I only feel like gaming all day instead of going out. In short: weed isn't the devil and if you need a drug, weed is probably the safest compared to alcohol, tobacco, cocaine, MDMA, speed, etc. Etc. But beware as weed works very different for everyone and it can be addictive and lead to psychological problems, especially if you start young and smoke all day long.

I can't imagine any relationship with smoking marijuana and Peyroines, but they say cigarettes definitely increases the risk many fold of getting Peyroines. But, with marijuana I doubt it, as it's never been studied.

As a long time cigarette and tobacco smoker I can tell you it's very difficult to smoke weed and not tobacco and most guys I know that smoke weed also smoke tobacco. Here in holland most people also roll their joints with tobacco in it, so I guess in that case a joint is just as bad (or worse than) smoking ciggies. Personally I'm kind of dependant on weed. Addicted is a big word, but you could call it that way. Without weed I have a very hard time sleeping and relaxing. It helps me when I have a lot of stress and I learned to stop smoking weed during thendaytime so I can really enjoy it at nighttime. Almost every night I smoke a joint, play some videogames and go to bed. It helps me calm down and I enjoy it too much to completely quit. I'm also 25 now, so I'm not really worried about developing psychosis, paranoia or schizophrenia. I already have anxiety and depression, but I also had those during the years I quit smoking. My personal goal is to save money for a vaporizer, get off the tobacco and allow myself to vape some weed before bed. Some people tell me weed is horrible. Even my last doctor told me it's incredibly harmfull to me and I honestly disagree. I'm not saying it's good, but I'm done with people acting like weed is the devil. I've been off for about a year, and I used to smoke way more than I do. Right now I smoke about 3 grams a week and I'm happy with that. I'm honestly more concerned with the tobacco,

I think with the tobacco, the Peyroines risk increases by 16 fold or something. But, marijuana has never been studied like that. Yeah, there are many good reasons to give up smoking tobacco, never mind the Peyroines issue.

I don't smoke at all and have Peyronie.
I'm an athlete and eat clean. And still got this disease.
I didn't injure my penis. I have no clue why I got this crap.
