I am self-diagnosed - with an upward bend appearing about 4 months ago. It briefly got a little better, and is now around 25 - 30 degrees. I have been in contact with my GP, and am waiting for a follow-on appointment with a specialist.
I am not aware of any recent injuries, but I had a problem with a catheterization more than 15 years ago. I had multiple catheters in a short period of time, and lots of pain. Could such an old injury lead to my problems now?
Hi KJSpion, welcome to the forum :)
catheterization could be a marker for Peyronie's, I think member NeoV thinks there is a correlation. I also believe that biofilm can develop leading to prostatitis due to catheter use :(
Hope the GP appointment goes well :) meantime keep some pics of your penis on your phone to help with visit, flaccid state and erect, hope your are pain free.
I agree cathertization could cause microtraumas and resultant scarring, but a 15 year delay seems unlikely unless any prior scarring was recently exacerbated to the extent it now caused a curve.
Thanks for the info. I'm new to all of this and trying to sort through it all. My GP has suggested that I wait a bit longer since the bend is not too severe and there's a chance it can still correct on it's own.
She did mention something interesting though. I have been taking Primidone for a neurological problem for a long time. She says there may be a connection between that medication (barbiturate) and Peyronies.
Thanks again,
KJ
Don't wait, most worsen with time and without treatment. Start VED or traction, pentox and low dose daily cialis at a minimum.
In my case the symptoms developed 2 days after the trimix injection
