Hi Everyone
I received 30 Pirfenidone tabs from India. They are made by Cipla, so they should be 100% legit.
I read that he could be a very useful drug against Peyronies, as it inhibits tgfBeta1.
I'd like to try it orally, but Im pretty scared and know nothing about dosage.
Never heard of this stuff but it looks interesting.
"The typical starting dose is 200mg of Pirfenex (Pirfenidone), taken 3 times a day. Dosage can be adjusted by your physician in accordance with progress. It is recommended that dosing is done after a meal or snack." -- http://www.unitedpharmacies.com/Pirfenex-Pirfenidone.html (http://www.unitedpharmacies.com/Pirfenex-Pirfenidone.html)
This is the dosage for IPF, polmunary fibrosis.
I can't understand if this stuff blocks the fibrosis or can reverse it. I need something to reserve, blocking is useless in my case
I'm not a doctor or an expert on this, but from the study description on wikipedia it appears to only arrest rather than reverse pulmonary fibrosis. This makes sense to me because once scar tissue is formed, it is very difficult to get rid of as it replaces healthy tissue.
Also, we don't know how this drug performs on penile tissues, which are different from lung tissues. Perhaps it can slow down or stop scar tissue in the tunica, but there do not appear to be any studies on it. Pentox does have studies showing a favorable response. I would stick with what we know can work.
Perfinidone has side effects, including increasing liver enzymes, which Pentox does not commonly do. Worth noting.

"The antifibrotic effect of pirfenidone has been further established in animal models of cardiac,[22][23][24] renal,[25][26] and hepatic[5][27][28] fibrosis. In these models, pirfenidone demonstrated a consistent ability to reduce fibrosis and the expression of fibrogenic mediators." -- Wikipedia
So from my reading of this, it reduces existing fibrosis and helps prevent further incidences of it.
I can't find a dose specific to Peyronie's. The dose I posted is a good starting point. If it were me, that's where I would start.

My advice is:
Start from asking a good general practitioner doctor!!!
James
It's an off-label drug, I don't need a physician as he would not approve its usage.
I will start with half tab ED, let's see what happens....
@yyy: did it work for you? also: how/where did you find it?
does anyone know yyy's email address? his mailbox is full :(
Lets find this guy!
Click on the envelope in his signature block. His PM may be full, but you can send him an email via the forum.
I'm sorry... I don't see an envelope (or a signature block)
It is the area to the left of every post.
I see the envelope for you, I don't see it for yyy. Probably you see it for everybody because you are a moderator.
I'll check his status and email him.
Any news about this?
@LWillisjr: did yyy ever reply to your email?
No response.
he's been online on here ever since though... how does he possibly not notice any of us? :(
