Title: Trouble with Restorex
Post by: swimdad on February 22, 2023, 09:48:29 PM
I'm new here. 50 y/o with 30-40 % curve to the right. I gone thru 2 cycles of Xiaflex with the second round causing tremendous pain during the second injection. I was screaming in agony. My doctor has strongly encouraged me to use a Restorex device just for straight traction. I feel like an idiot but this thing does not seem as easy to use as the videos and reviews suggest. Is the head of my penis supposed to hurt so much? If I loosen the 'grip' I slide out. Tighten and it's painful. I use the  grip tape (not too tight) as suggested but worry that I'm cutting off circulation at the tip or causing damage there when I use the clamp. Also the grip tape is irritating to the point where the skin is raw. I'm only on my second day of using this thing. Besides the instructional videos and literature how do I know if I'm really doing it right?

Finally, I have noticed a bump/lump on the top side of my shaft no where near the plaque formation. My doc said this could just be inflammation from the last cycle but I'm concerned it's something worse. Has anyone had any experiences like this after a cycle?

Really hoping to connect with someone. This is a lot for me as I'm sure it is for you. I have no one really to talk to. My wife knows this is a problem but I don't think she really 'gets' it and can't relate obviously. Sex has been on hold since July 2022 because of my pain and associated ED. Really want to get back at it soon. Hoping things improve.

I've provided a lnk for you to look at. You need to purchase some of these makeup pads to use for your Restorex. -->https://www.peyroniesforum.net/index.php/topic,16996.0.html . It will make it a lot more easier for your glans to stay in the clamp without you having to use the tape.  Also could you please fill out your signature line so others can quickly see your current stats.

I Amazoned the pads and have used them for a few days now. Night and day. The sticky tape on the frenulum and sulcus was too painful for me to remove twice a day. But the pads are great. No problem doing 30-60 minutes now. I did need to move the clamp up to use them though.

You will find the correct placement with them and will never have to use the tape again. I always warm up my groin/penile area with a warm wash cloth for about 5 minutes before I use the Restorex. Everything is relaxed and filled with a good blood flow before use.

Thank you for the replies. Updated my profile. Ordered the pads and actually used the same philosophy with the tape by wrapping it around the clamp. Any ideas what that lump could be that I mentioned?

I have had no experience with Xiaflex injections so it is difficult to say what is going on. Peyronies is a beast of a disease that can strike in many different ways and forms.

If you have specific questions also, like I did about the restorex their customer service was top notch about answering them regarding placement and clamping etc.

I have no experience with Xiaflex.

This isn't a big issue for my wife either, only getting a hug after trying to explain how it affects a man, and she doesn't want to dwell on it. We get a little obsessed with the subject because it's Peyronie's Curse.

But I suggest trying these pads: https://a.co/d/8iKsgYG for slippage issues.

I only get to one "click" with the clamp, though, even after raising it up because the pads are thick-ish. There's sometimes a little discomfort, but I was experiencing more pain before hearing to "only clamp the glans, not any shaft."

My only issue now is how cold the glans becomes after a session. But I may try the warm-rag thing and see how that goes.

Patience is imperative though.
