Title: Not sure how to climb out of this hole of despair
Post by: MarkDS on January 17, 2020, 04:23:23 PM
So after a less than successful incision and grafting surgery that has left me with a residual curve of over 45 degrees and slight hourglass, I had further surgery to try and tackle the discomfort from extreme retraction of my flaccid penis.  Again this has not gone well and there is little improvement.

I'm now totally at a loss.  In constant discomfort and scared to death I wont
be able to manage intercourse any more.

Anybody have any comforting words, or suggestion how to improve the situation?

Do all day stretchers give good results.  I just need to stop the little man from hiding.  Although to be fair I don't blame him with the way he looks now.

Traction helped me with turtling. DMSO applications seeming to fill it out a bit too (but that is controversial). As does heat.

As for the rest, I just say hang on until a solution presents itself and know that you are part of something larger than yourself. Easier said than done.

Retraction! Why? How do you think does it relate to the surgery?
Retraction can happen due to stress, bad blood flow, cold or a tense pelvic floor(which can happen if the PF is traumatized from a surgery, tensing chronically restricting blood flow towards the penis).

If you had surgery recently(when?) be careful with anything intrusive or aggravating like extenders etc.

Obviously you have to come out of that hole no matter what's up with your penis. Keep a cool head and shift focus from the thoughts that keep you there to a better place.

Almost forgot. I tried traction wrapping for turtling too. I didn't do it too much, but when I did, I felt like it helped a bit. I just loosely wrapped coflex tape from base to head which stretches it out a small amount. Then went about my daily business. It isn't as aggressive as regular traction. But it keeps it pulled out a bit. Then take it off every couple hours and re-wrap. Do it for a few weeks and turtling should improve a bit.

Thanks for the replies.

After the initial surgery the graft shrunk for some reason which resulted in the residual curve and loss of length both in erect and flacid state.

Due to the graft and loss of flaccid length my penis head stuck straight out, and due to loss of foreskin it was extremely uncomfortable.  So my surgeon recomended anchoring the skin to the penis to stop it retracting into my pubis, and also putting a buffer in to try and push my penis forward and down.  Unfortunately this does not seem to have had the desired effect, although flacid penis has gone from from around 4cm as it's worse to around 6cm

So I'm still very uncomfortable.  I just need to stop my little fella hiding, so I can position him comfortably.

I'll try gentle wrapping to start with and see how I go.

Thanks for your support

The 2nd surgery isn't long ago, so be careful with any tugging and stretching. Ease into everything.
You might search for information on what you can do with grafts. If you can do VED or traction? In theory would be able to stretch the tissue.
With some heating and slow but continuous stretching either via traction or VED the tissue will get more loose over time. But be careful and know what you do :)
