Title: me
Post by: memnoch on February 17, 2020, 07:51:04 AM
I'm 48 years old and am in the chronic phase with a bend about 45 degrees at the base of circumcision scar.
Urologist prescribed 400 mg Pentoxifylline Er 1x day.
Urologist prescribed VED that I have to wait forever for insurance to likely not cover so I bought this: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07WV9VK71/
I haven't started yet - how does one find 10 minutes 2x a day with a small house with thin walls and full of kids???
This is a bummer.

Fortunately VED is quiet.  For privacy if lock the door and let the kids know you need some alone time and you'll come find them in 15 minutes.  Of course, if someone can keep them busy (or go before/after their bed time) would make it easier.

Dr diagnosed today. Says I have 2cm plaque.  Where is that size in the Peyronies Disease realm?

I'm not sure what the average size or number of plaques are and I am not sure how important that is anyway.  What is important is the degree of deformity or size loss.

Hmm, after over a year and a half, has your bend improved at all with VED usage?

I got very little VED in.
Meanwhile I went from 30 degrees to 65 degrees so decided RestoreX would fit my lifestyle better.
I'm on week 6 now with RestoreX.
No decrease in bend yet.

In my first year I found I went from 40-45 degrees to a 60-65 degrees... sort of the progression of the acute phase.  After one round of Xiaflex treatments and a long year and a half or two with Restorex I am back to 40-45 degrees.

Hang in there.

Rx for Pentox ran out so saw my original urologist.

1. He took me off the Pentox, said let's see if you have any worsening, if not, since it hasn't improved anything I may stay off of it.

2. He agreed the Cialis was a good idea so took over the RX for that from the jerk in Boston.

3. Encouraged Xiaflex. Said he usually refers to the jerk in Boston but if that didn't work out, to check out The Miriam Hospital in Proivdence, RI.

4. I mentioned that according to the Xiaflex site, there are some nearby, like Greater Boston Urology in Plymouth and Falmouth.

I'm surprised there aren't many more where the Boston area has so many Dr and world class hospitals.
