Title: Excision, grafting and implant with ED Success?
Post by: danbon on March 15, 2014, 08:19:56 PM
My urologist has suggested that if I fail to show improvement through other methods during the next several months I may need to have this type of surgery excision, grafting and implant;however, he tells me that some men who have ED previous to this will continue to have it or it may be even worse...........what I don't understand is, what's the point of the implant then????? I thought the implant will work even if you have ED,but apparently I'm wrong. My ED is very severe, I can get some blood there, but that's about it, not hard enough, bad rigidity, and even sensitivity is pretty bad as well. I have one plaque that was/is calcified. I've been taking pentox for two months and it seems to be working, but I'm not really sure if the calcification is going away or not. Apparently, I only have one plaque on the ventral side around the middle of the penis that makes my penis curve/bent almost 90 degrees(pretty bad, huh?). Anyway, the main question I have though is why after having the plaque removed, having a graft in place, and an implant, would I experience ED? that's what I don't understand. Thoughts?

I think you either misunderstood him or he is completely wrong. I've heard of ED issues developing in graft surgeries that do not include an implant, due to the grafting material being prone to leakage, but not with an implant. My potential surgeon highly recommended the implant along with the grafting to prevent any possible ED issues.

Logically, How can have ED with an implant?
Danbon, as Knight said, maybe you understand wrong, if not, talk to a serious urologist!!!

An implant doesn't cure ED. But it is an extremely effective method to overcome ED. It is a mechanical device using completely mechanical means to create an erection. No blood required. There are many sites available on the internet outlining how implants work so I'm not going into details here.

Thanks for the info LWillisjr, I'm going to research it more in depth to understand it better.
