I came off Pentox as my Uro advised if I had been on it for six months and didn't see much improvement that it was unlikely it would do any good for me.
I've read here people seeing improvements on pentox after 8-9 months.
Do you guys recommend staying on it for longer? I just don't like the way it makes me feel and gets kind of expensive too.
Thanks,
JJ
I used Pentox for 18 months.
One of Pentox side effects is weakening the immune system by lowering the leukocytes in your blood. If you don't have immune system weakening during the six months you can continue under your doctor supervising.

I just started Pentox myself, is this something people use long term with Peyronies? It seems the longer you are on it the bigger risk of some adverse effects. I would understand up to 18 months of use. But do people with Peyronies try to stay on Pentox for many years or life? To my understanding it halts the disease process from worsening and prevents more damage. Which would seem that you would want to be on it long term. But at the same time is it healthy to do that? Or what is the general time line you are supposed to be doing it? From my understanding of it though I would stay on it for as long as you can manage to help dissolve plaque and the like. But definitely under doctor supervision and the needed tests to make sure it's safe. Im not a doctor so not giving medical advice, of course.
The bottom line is to follow the advice of the doctor who wrote the prescription. In general, you should have some sense at 8-12 months if it is helping or not. If there are no continuing signs of improvement by taking regular objective measurements or at least in erection on the feel of plaque then I would taper off. At that point continue objective measurements to determine if there are any setbacks from discontinuing. That is why written, objective, measurements are so critical. It is the only way to know if ANY treatment is helping.
I had never heard of Pentox before. Is this a Peyronies Disease or ED treatment?
Peyronies. Have you ready the survival guide? https://www.peyroniesforum.net/index.php/topic,3180.msg44057.html#msg44057
I am currently taking one pentox 400 mg a day. Took three pentox a day for the first 3 and a half years, then two pentox a day for 10 months after that, now I'm on one a day.
Seems to be good to keep taking it indefinitely at least in some quantity. Might go down to one pentox every second day in two or three years.
