Title: Questions regarding Xiaflex
Post by: bbill on April 30, 2017, 08:53:20 PM
Hello all....
So I feel as if i have venous leakage in my penis as a result of my peyronies disease. I was wondering if the xiaflex can help the leakage or does it just help fix the curve or are do they both go hand in hand. I was doing research on doctor Michael Werner in NYC (he is supposedly very good) and was hoping to get an appointment but i was just looking for some answers in the meantime.

Thanks

Peyronies and venous leakage are 2 completely different issues. They are not related and one does not lead to the other. And the treatments for each are quite different. I would suggest you find a competent doctor and posts our questions to him/her.

I had read some material stating that the plaque and scaring from the peyronies could lead to problems with erection quality and erectile dysfunction due to venous leakage to a certain degree .....appreciate the response tho and i guess ill just wait and see what the expert says

Hello, please understand that i am far from an expert, but like you I am living with Peyronies Disease and I have been told that I have a venous leakage. Xiaflex helped some with the curve...I went from an85 degree left curve to roughly 45 degrees left and 10 upward. The quality of my erections remained somewhat the same before and after treatment, not great. My uro did an ultrasound while I had an induced partial erection. This exam was one of the more humiliating things I have had to go through, but necessary. The results of the ultrasound showed the leakage. I am a 40 year type one diabetic which probably led to some ED and the leakage but the dr thought that since my curve is located on the left side of the penis down the shaft where it connects to my pelvis that it may well be allowing some blood to leak while erect. Since I have already been through xiaflex, varapamil and traction he prescribed daily cialis and another high dose ED drug to take prior to sex. There is no doubt that my erections are significantly firmer. I should note that I do pay out of pocket for the daily cialis.
I hope this info helps you in some way.

It is possible for the plaque to cause something called "mass effect" - and consequently cause the veins to remain open.

Open veins will lead to blood loss (i.e. venous leak). It requires proper diagnosing by a GOOD urologist, however - and those are rare.
