They only have results from 22 people so I'll just wait and see. I still don't really get how it works, could you describe in a easy way? Hopefully they'll have more succes with this in the future. I'm glad to see that people are trying different things so hopefully it won't be too long before they find the real deal.

I've been researching the company Oncotherm GmbH who, according to the paper, own the Androtherm device. I can't find it anywhere so far, so I guess it doesn't matter how good it is if we can't get access to the device somehow.
Interestingly though, we now know why we are getting such good results from Hot Hands heatpacks .... somewhat less technical than an Androtherm :D

At certain temperatures the hard plague fibers get "stretchy" again. Has to do with the properties of collagen.
In that moment stretching or applying transdermal solutions might aid the process. In the right individual dosage heat(and cold) therapy makes total sense cause of the nature of the tissue.
There is much literature about the tissue when it comes different body parts(sport therapy for example). Some of it can be compared as the process is similar in tendons for example.
This study has been discussed on other threads. It's a good one for sure, and hypothermia does appear to be helpful. As mentioned above, heat pads, heat lamps, and the rice sock, are used commonly here. It certainly my seems to have helped me combined with traction.
It's kinda funny how often that study has been 'discovered'. This is the 8th time that I have witnessed :)

Surely because it's not profitable James. No reason to go to a urologist when you can use a rice sock. Same goes for traction by hand. Much better to patent a drug which costs 20 thousand dollars. I would love to see more studies on hypothermia and one on manual traction! I am not trying to put forth a conspiracy theory here but just offering one side of the story.
Well in my opinion it is because it is hard to do. Before the handwarmer thing, keeping a steady application of heat was very difficult, near impossible without some expensive heating lamp thing.
Doctors make zero profit off most things they prescribe, which is a good thing. If there was an easy way to apply consistent heat, which had a study with good results behind it, doctors would prescribe it.
Has anyone found the device, trademarked as "treat-therm"?
