Title: Question on 5mg daily cialis
Post by: powderpowder on October 12, 2014, 03:32:45 PM
For the last 3-4 months of my Peyronies treatment, my urologist wants me to use daily cialis to get more bloodflow to the hourglass formation to try and correct it and more bloodflow obviously to the plaque.

Keep in mind, I don't consider myself having ED at all, MAYBE mild. I can get it up when I want for sex and I keep it fairly well during sex.  Sometimes I get distracted or theres something on my mind so I lose it a little, sometimes anxiety can cause me to be out of it too, but I talked to it about my girlfriend and she says i'm almost always hard during sex as well.

I'm guessing my doctor just wants me to be safe and always be very hard and for bloodflow for the plaque, but my concern is if I take daily cialis for 3 months, will I become dependant on it, and when I get off of the cialis, will I still be able to have an erection good enough for sex??? My biggest fear is that i'll need the cialis for the rest of my life and I don't know how I feel about that being that the pills are expensive and you can't really drink on them, and im turning 21 soon and like to have fun also.

Any help is appreciated

I think 5 mg for somebody that don't have ED is too much, but I am not a doctor.

No one can answer in my opinion if after taking it for 3 months will not have long lasting negative effect.
Maybe you should tell and discuss your concerns with the doctor.

I'm aware of no study that's ever shown PDE5 usage creates dependancy.  In fact, I recall a study somewhere (sorry, I don't have it at hand) that showed regular usage of Cialis actually improved performance AFTER the Cialis was discontinued by increasing the micro-vascularization in the penis - in other words, more and better blood flow for a period of time was of lasting benefit.

Honestly, I understand your concern, but don't think it's proven to be backed up by any research.

Best,
Nemo

Yup NeoV, that is exactly right. There are a few actually, 2 on cialis I think and one on viagra, that showed improved erectile function weeks after total cessation of treatment. Only had time to find one of them:
