Title: Anxious about plication surgury
Post by: bendinky555 on December 02, 2021, 07:43:52 PM
I have a second appointment with Urologist whose a Peyronies specialist to measure my curve and see how plication will effect length. Today I got two calls from the office to set the surgery date and pre-surgery visit. We decided on March 7th for the surgury. These calls made me very anxious and have second thoughts.

Anyone else have experience second thoughts or anxiety about plication? It just seems so extreme to have a doctor cut into my penis but she has me convinced it's the most effective for my issue. Would like to hear about anyone else's experiences. Thanks!

Dr. Barbra Chubak at Mr. Sinai in NYC. She specializes in peyronies and explained to me that plication is best for my congenital and recent injury curvature. It's downward so the injections are limited. She also said my insurance will probably cover the surgery, we will find out when they go for authorization.

If you are in/near NYC and having concerns, I am sure that others on the forum might suggest a 2nd opinion with Dr Eid who is based in NYC.  I have not worked with him personally but my understanding is he is one of the nation's very best Dr's for Peyronies.
