Title: Make the forum more concise and simple
Post by: Boar on March 17, 2020, 02:11:14 PM
The biggest problem is our lack of members and interactions, having so many threads just makes this worse and makes the website more cluttered. Ive visited this site over 50 times before finding out there was an "improvement thread. There are multiple uneeded threads and repetitive threads. For example we have two uneeded off topic threads, two coping threads, a whole thread for curvature, and two more for other questions. At the very least you need to change the layout and have the most important peyroines threads at the top and just have the other old ones that never get traphic hidden by a tab at the bottom.

I appreciate your concern.  I have agonized over completeness vs brief and concise and have done my best to balance the two.  If you have specific suggestions I am more than wiling to consider them.  Keep in mind however that I have put untold hours of thought into the layout.

Is it very difficult to be able to "save" posts to a personal mailbox? As reddit has done, I find it difficult to find posts if no one currently replies.

Tobyg,

If you have a suggestion, you have to be a lot more detailed than your last post.  I have no idea what you are trying to say.

I am looking for a post about a wake forest clinical trial, I don't know how to find it, when someone writes in that post I can see it (because I made a comment). I'd like to find an easy way to find old posts that interest me.
that's just a suggestion,

Well, that is fairly easy.

Just go to the search button on the upper left side of the screen and click.  You can search anything on the forum and even break it down by what member posted it and when, if you want to.

Once you are on that topic or any topic, you can click the "Notify" button next to the "Reply" button, and you will be notified every time there is a post in that topic.

Also, on the upper top left of the screen right under your name, you will see "Show unread posts since my last visit".  That will show you every post since you were last on.

It is just a matter of familiarizing yourself with the powerful features on this layout.
