Title: 25yo, just out of my first consultation - am I an idiot for not using Pentox?
Post by: rocketlawnchair3 on January 10, 2019, 05:49:16 PM
Hi all

I realised about 3 months ago that I had some curvature (about 25 degrees) upwards and to the left, and an indentation (?) on the top of my penis, as well as some severe discomfort obtaining an erection. Back in September I was able to see Dr Suks Minhas (I'm from the UK), who was very helpful, and instructed I take cialis, vitamin e, and use the SomaCorrect VED. (I'm also taking all the supplements listed on the beginners guide)

However, he didn't prescribe me pentox, as he believed the evidence for it's success was inconclusive. I've read so much about it on here, and it seems like everyone would recommend it - am I an idiot for continuing without it? I feel a little lost on this one with this conflicting information.

I've also purchased the SomaCorrect, but I've read about using a traction device as well, and I was wondering if they are complementary methods, or if they should be treated as alternatives?

This forum seems like such a wonderfully helpful place, so I'm very grateful to have found it, and it's given me some belief that I'm not in such a dark and lonely place as it initially seemed.

Thanks in advance for any and all help!

(Also, I'm almost certain that I ended up with Peyronies as a result of using Finasteride, please do yourself a favour and stay off this stuff - it may be excellent at preventing hair loss, but the potentially life altering side effects just beggar belief)

I took pentox for about 5 years. I really could not tell it did or did not do anything. I still had erectile issues that did not improve as well a shrinkage. It is mainly a cheap vasodialator. Dicks do need blood flow though.  I did feel quite uncomfortable, mainly in my head on higher dosages which is one reason I quit. Another was cost reduction though it is cheap and difficulty getting it here in the states. Cheers.

Interesting, thanks Alibaba - I think I'll continue as discussed with my consultant, and see how it goes.

Thanks!

Rocket, my uro didn't believe it would be helpful either. He didn't recommend it when I asked him about it. But like many doctors, he bases his beliefs of of studies he has read. Although I think he was open to prescribing it to me if I wanted it.

Some substitute CoQ10 for pentox.  I believe both thin the blood.

Pentoxifiline is a cheap vasodiolator. So is Viagra and Adcirca which is 2) 20mg Cialis a day is also a vasodiolator.  I take Adcirca but it costs $4,070 a month.  The generic which came available here in the U.S.  few months ago also is $4,070 a month.  I took 1/2 the prescribed dose of Pentoxifiline when it was available at pharmacy because my head did not feel right at full dose. It seems a side effect is cranial hypertension. High blood pressure in your head. Not a good thing. I have no idea if it helped my dick or not. I took it for about 6 years by Dr. Brandes orders.

Some people here have had improvements with pentox and others have had no success at all. I know personally a combination of pentox and cialis daily helped significantly with my erectile dysfunction. I know the pentox helped specifically with this as previously 20mg cialis as needed had stopped working.

It may help it may not, if you're willing to put up with the side effects and costs I would definitely recommend you try it anyway at least for 6 -9 months (that's the period where most people see results).

With this disease what works for some may not work for others. Some have 100% improvement from VED alone and others use it to no avail.

What i'm trying to say is i'd try everything you can as chances are your condition will only get worse and you want to do as much as you can to prevent that.

Not sure if pentox did much for me either.
