Maybe I'm just a wimp but the thoughts of all the pics and a lot of the posts about Xiaflex treatments scare me half to death.

How did you all handle it?

If that scares you, I do not know what you think about peyronies surgery or implants. Compared to that xiaflex is nothing

Yeah, well I've never had very much done medically, and never there, so it's bothering me. The "inflate" shot I got at my first visit last week went beyond uncomfortable but the "deflate" wasn't nearly as bad.

I currently have a 40-50* left curve and the Uro (men's sexual health specialist) said Xiaflex was the way to go. Pentox for 8 weeks has allowed a recovery of about 20* since it started. All the pain is gone too.

If you go for Xiaflex, you will have your moments, but overall the bitching on the board (I include myself in that group) probably makes it seems worse than it is.  I have had easy injections and tough ones.  But for me it was all bearable.  Its all about situation, if you can live with what you have now, then Xiaflex is a luxury.  If you are finding that sex isnt good or possible for you and your partner, then its a good option.  Its an aggressive treatment, but as the the guys above said, a way less traumatic option than surgery ...
55 - Onset May 2017.  38 degree bend up.  Failed Xiaflex treatment.  Still functional so I decided to stop treatments.  Only take 400mg Co-Q10 and occasionally use Restorex

One other thing ... Xiaflex results depends on the skill of the person doing the injection.  Its not like a injecting a regular drug that travels throughout the body to work.  It needs to be right into the plaque to do the most damage to it.  And injecting into the plaque is difficult.  Ask your doctor how many has he done before, and has he had good success.  You really dont want him trying to learn this on this on your body ....

Xiaflex has been easy for me, but I go to a very high volume xiaflex doc (did 20 injections today), he induces an erection by an injection to determine the best location to inject and then injects the numbing med before injecting the Xiaflex.

What!? You got numbing meds!? Not fair! Ha

Keep in mind you're put under during surgery. Also, xiaflex isn't the funnest thing in the world, I didn't look at pics before starting. You'll be fine.

Xiaflex alone doesn't correct it. It's makes the plaque easier to break up and that's why hand modeling, traction or VED is important. Make sure to ask what your drs full treatment plan is.
