So I have an order of trimix gel to help with erections and blood flow but I am scared to use it. I have read trimix injections have caused peyronies in some people in this forum. Also whats the best way to have an erection for any imaging without hurting my penis anymore?

Hi Josh, you should carefully read member Christopher1 posts, he is in medicine (I think), he swears Trimix set off his peyronie's episode

I believe it set mine off as well. At least one study showed 4% had this side effect. However, Dr Lue, a well renown peyronies specialist told me this can be avoided by putting pressure immediately at the site of injection for at least 5 minutes. Hebsays this stops the bleeding which is crucial as if you don’t and bring in more blood for the erection it causes the trauma triggering peyronies.

Correct. I would avoid injecting unless absolutely necessary (e.g. spinal cord injury or severe Erectile Dysfunction).

Yes, Tsanchez12369 - spinal cord injury can lead to some very unfortunate conditions, such as paralysis or permanent Erectile Dysfunction.

People with a spinal cord injury can use Trimix with nice results. Hopefully, of course, they are not one of the few unlucky people who develop Peyronies Disease from it.

I think my peyronies was from the trimix injections. However, Dr Lue says that can be avoided if pressure is put to the injection site for 5-7 minutes afterward rather than just until it quits bleeding externally. It’s apparently important to ensure any internal bleeding has stopped before the engirgement of the induced erection.

I don't know what the incidence of Peyronies Disease from Trimix is.

I have actually taken care of people with spinal cord injuries who use it frequently without problems. Overall though - I wouldn't recommend it unless absolutely necessary. It is just too risky.

I just looked back at this post and see some of you are interested about the trimix gel. I got it from my urologist, its not an injection it goes down the urthera instead. It is like the gel Muse but with trimix you dont have to insert the applicator down your urthera.

I heard the incidence is 4%, maybe more but def not a large percentage. My doc says chances pretty much non-existence if hold pressure on injection site for 7+minutes to stop any internal bleeding which creates the trauma resulting in peyronies.

I have never heard about this medication before for erection. What i know and have used is Viagra which is very effective and works really well without giving any side-effects. I am facing erection problem since last two years and its quite embarrassing for me because m just 26 and i have to face this problem so early.Anyways without consulting any doctor i have started taking Viagra and am not facing any problem.

I think I read papaverine is inherently fibrotic.

I am just not a fan of these injections or chemicals. My urologist also never warned me at the time that this was a possibility. I still carry a lot of resentment towards that urologist for not warning me.

My dr also didn’t warn me about holding the penis for 7 minites and I got Peyronies from the injection. I’m 100 percent sure as it started at the injection site and kept growing for a year. I used injections for a bout two years. Worked great. Also now my blood flow is really good. Side effect from the injections. Which is great. But a bent penis sucks.

This topic is about gel, not injections so I will likely split it and maybe even merge it with another topic on injections.

1. Papaverine is available at a low cost and is stable at room temperature but is less effective than the other medications and may have a higher tendency to cause scarring (fibrosis).

2. Papaverine plus phentolamine (BiMix) is more potent than papaverine alone but with the same potential side effects such as priapism and scar tissue formation.

3. Alprostadil rarely causes priapism but with its use pain is more common. (Alprostadil is also known as prostaglandin E-1 or PGE-1, in powdered form it may be called Caverject or Edex.)

4. Papaverine plus phentolamine plus Alprostadil (Trimix) is the most potent but requires refrigeration and has the same side effects as Papaverine and Alprostadil.

Are you basically stating that the Trimix injections improved your natural ability to have erections? I have heard of this phenomenon but only from 2 patients and 1 urologist. I am not sure how true it is.

I got my Peroynes 8 months ago after the "Doctor" injected me a Trimix injection that left me with a excruciating painful erection for over 3 hours. After 8 months I still don't have a palpable plaque, my penis has a dent in the same area of the injection, also at the same area I have narrowing and "hinge effect" when is semi hard, but not when is hard. Maybe if I just inject Alprostadil on the other areas of the penis far from the dent? Any of you are still injecting trimix or alprostadil having Peroynes?

Also, why not use Trimix gel?. The company that makes Trimix gel advice guys with Peroynes not to use it, why not?

There is data that suggest that some of the components of BiMix and TriMix can cause fibrosis. This is not just from any micro trauma of the needle but the drug itself. I cannot say that it cannot happen form 1 injection but is much more likely if injecting multiple times weekly over a period of time.

Hawk is one mixture more or less prone to fibrosis? Surgeons will move ahead w an implant if someone doesn’t want to risk the injections.

There is some controversy but usually Papaverine is considered more likely to cause fibrosis. It is found in BiMix and TriMix but at lower levels in TriMix

I think most of the Peyronies from these drugs is caused by trauma from injection and blood going where it shouldn’t be.

Micro trauma to blood vessels with some bleeding could occur from an unusually/painfully hard erection.

Also long term there seems to be anecdotal girth increase on Trimix.
