Hi all, would like to share my Peyronies Disease experience if I may. Almost 2 years ago I noticed two indentations on either side at the base of my penis (when erect) The one on the left side was deeper than the other causing a bend of about 45 degrees. No pain at all but it was unstable and had a hinged effect. Went to my GP and was referred to a urologist, he diagnosed mild Peyronies Disease. He said as there was no pain, could still have penetrative sex, was not life threatening so get over it and come back if it gets worse and I can do surgery. Left dismayed and started to do my own research. I found another urologist who specialises in men's health, particularly Peyronies Disease. Prescribed 5 mg of cialis daily and suggested a wait and see approach. Left dismayed again. Did virtually nothing for 6 months and the condition worsened a little, the indentations had transformed into an indented ring around the base, still bending left and very unstable. I tried vitamin E and vacuum therapy for a while with no result. I researched a little more and found a pelvic physiotherapist. After a phone call she said she was willing to see me. At my first consultation I learned more about Peyronies Disease in 10 minutes than visits to two urologists even though she expressed she wasn't an expert in the field. Her treatment was : lower abdominal massage to promote blood flow to the pelvic area : vigorous massage of the affected area, here I must say that as I was still taking 5 mg of cialis daily I did get an erection and though I was very embarrassed and apologetic she explained that is was actually better I was erect. This was followed by therapeutic ultrasound and then gentle massage. We followed this routine for once every 2 weeks for 5 visits then once a month for3 visits. She encouraged me to massage myself for 5 minutes once every 2 days. There has been a tremendous improvement and my penis bends only slightly and is less unstable at the base. The physiotherapist cannot say if it was her treatment that caused the improvement or if it is just occurred naturally but I thought it may be of interest to some of the men on here. Best wishes to all.

Certainly, she held the head and upper shaft of the penis in one hand and sort of stretched it and rested on my leg, then used her thumb on the other hand to work into the area of concern. It was quite hard as she said she wanted to work deep into the tissue, I was to do the same at home but i think I didn't do it as hard as her. She mentioned there could be some bruising but that didn't occur. The final gentle massage was to relax the stressed tissue and skin . It was all done with massage oil. Hope that explains it.

Woah! That sounds like a happy ending nine times over!

No. Seriously. How do we find this...therapist?

"It was quite hard..." -- Ya think.

"The final gentle massage was to relax the stressed tissue and skin." Speechless.

If this doesn't bring hope to the world of curved dicks I don't know what will.

I knew there was a reason I was reluctant to post here

Vfcomm, nice post, thanx for sharing  :)

Just be careful with your injury (base) as care will be needed in future for sex, don't do 'risky' positions.

I don't think JohnW was trying to offend you, keep posting, would appreciate a further post on your history, age, other treatments etcetera.

Try to remain flaccid during massage (easier said than done), or very least a 'semi' erection, with full erection so injury risk rises (pun intended).
Whenever you find yourself on the side of the majority, it is time to pause and reflect.

Vfcomm --

a) Where's your sense of humor? It's in your best interest to let it flourish -- with your circumstance. There was a time not long ago when I wasn't able, and certainly did not, discuss my dick or my balls with anybody. Then I had a colonoscopy (for a health checkup), a hernia operation, and surgery on my dick -- all within an eight month period.

I went from being Victorian about my own skin, to the year 2016 when I became comfortable. Every part of my dick, balls, and ass were invaded, palpated, rolled, touched, inspected, probed -- over and again. And, to add insult to injury, all that futzing around with my dick produced an erection more often than not.

I got to the point where I just expected there was going to be an erection, and I'd open the conversation with the provider, "Look, nature is going to take over down here while you're doing you're thing. I'm totally good with it -- so don't feel like you have to apologize. I'd rather you get to see the whole picture and do a thorough exam."

Get comfortable talking about your dick. Heck, it wasn't until all that happened in 2016 that I was able to see the humor in a thing that happened to me in 2013! Here's that story (it's posted in the Forum's humor section): https://www.peyroniesforum.net/index.php/topic,7670.0.html

b) I live in the U.S. It is difficult for me to imagine any medical provider completing upon any man the process you have described. Either it's happening here and no one is talking about it, OR those providers have lost their license to practice. In the context of the country where I live, your story is fantastical. And, delightful.

Vfcomm,

Definitely read JohnW's linked post.  You will see his sense of humor and appreciate his earlier comment.  My Dr. is an old man, and he is no specialist in anything in particular.  I've taught him a thing or two non Peyronie's related.
