The impact on me has been minimal.   At first, I was "in mourning" over the loss of my straight penis and withdrew from sex thinking no guy would be interested in my now crooked Dick.  Gay men can be superficial, especially when a more attractive guy can be found 590 feet away on grinder.   But as the shock of my condition faded, I realized that my penis just has a bit of character it didn't have before.  I re-engaged in sex and, to my surprise, experienced the same reactions to my penis as before my injury.  Nobody seems to notice the bend and, if they do, nobody cares.   Lots of guys have a penis that isn't perfectly straight.   Curvy dicks didn't bothered me before, so why would mine bother me now?

I feel that it has impacted my life.

It brought sex between my partner and myself to a halt. Mostly psychological. My curve is almost 90 derees upward and it affects everything. The way I touch myself, the way I achieve orgasm. My partner is very supportive but hearing platitudes like "it looks cute" do not help at all.

It has been almost 3 years now and it is only just now that our sex life is getting back on track. And still though, my partner doesn't understand how I need to be touched.

For a while I looked for validation through casual sex. That was hit and miss. Some guys are turned off. Others are fine with it. Sexually though the curvature has made many positions difficult. While I can penetrate someone it is difficult for me to remain inside if I move. The only reliable position is for someone to sit on me. That is fine for some people but others want more. And to be honest, that position is okay but not completely satisfying.

I am looking into surgery but the condition has possibly been caused by a long term narrowing (15 years) of the urethra and a lot of catheterizing. After 2 years of setbacks, and changing hospitals, I am finally having the urethra reconstructed this Christmas. The doctor feels it could bring some improvement to the curvature but cannot guarantee it. This is major surgery with the urethra being rebuilt with the linning of the mouth. If this goes well with no complications (and the pain isn't too bad) I will explore the idea of further surgery in the next year or 2. I'll be 55 by then so not sure if it will be worthwhile.

Hi Tony. Had the urethroplasty 5 weeks ago. That went well but can't tell the effect upon the peyronnie's yet. Unfortunately the op has left me completely unable to achieve erection. And it is only now any feeling is returning to my balls and penis. Doctor says that it could be another 3-6 months before the erection problems are resolved naturally by time...

The nerves can certainly take time to heal.  After my surgery I was numb but w time the sensations return more and more. I'd ask your doc for a script for low dose nightly cialis or viagra.  It's shown to help erections return over 6-12 months after prostate surgeries where erections were lost.  Please keep us posted.  90 degrees is quite severe and may end up requiring surgery.  Worst case, if needed and Erectile Dysfunction remains a problem...implant can be the solution for both problems.  Most all have success with it...just need the right surgeon.  Please Keep us posted and wishing you a speedy recovery.  Tony
