Hi & thanks for letting me join.  My husband aged 61, has Peyronie's & was officially diagnosed at the end of last year, but has suffered it for more than 3 years.  He is past the stage of any medication & the only course left is to have surgery.  He is tearing himself apart with what to do about it.  Surgery definitely means the loss of length, as his penis is now at a 45deg angle, with the girth at the angle point being almost double what it used to be.  He was average size to start with, but surgery will mean he will be left with about 2-3" max.
We are both suffering mentally, he because of the torment about having it & not knowing what to do about it, me, because I'm hearing about it every day & suffering physically too, as it's extremely painful to have any kind of penetrative sex & he doesn't feel fulfilled if any other method of release is used.
We are reaching the point of no return now, our health is suffering generally, due to all the stress.  I had no idea that this horrid disease can cause such misery in a marriage.  What isn't helping either of us, is that I am now menopausal & currently, sex doesn't interest me at all & with my mood swings, life can get quite hideous, with both of us "having a go" for different reasons.  Is there anyone we can talk to, together, who can help please?  Any other suggestions/ideas as to how we can make life better?  We are really desperate & desperately unhappy. Thanks for listening.

Why do you both think surgery is the only option? Which treatments has he tried so far?

I would suggest that he get a traction device and start using it religiously, and also Trental 400mg x 3 per day, and 2.5mg Cialis.

The other stuff is beyond my realm, like "he doesn't feel fulfilled if any other method of release is used"... he needs to get over that quick smart and be very thankful that he has a wife willing to use other methods in pursuit of his happiness.

There is a female only sub forum that might be of use to you.

This is an emotionally destructive condition, we all have it, let's be nice to each other.

Thanks for your advice re medication.  The Urologist my husband saw told him he has had it too long & that it will not change any further, also that surgery was the only option left to him.
I'll leave this forum & go to the ladies one - sorry if any of my earlier caused offence to anyone here - didn't realise it was for men specifically.

No this is definitely not men only, I just wanted you to know that there is also a female only subforum which exists to make sure you have a comfortable place to speak to each other.

Please don't hesitate to ask any questions you want here.

Re the 3 year thing, that is not true. It is easier to treat early, but also very possible to successfully treat  at and beyond the three year mark.

Urologists are a roll of loaded dice re Peyronie's. If you see them early they'll say 'wait and see', then once you've waited and seen, they'll say "has had it too long & that it will not change any further, also that surgery is the only option".

Try other modalities before surgery.
Snake Diet + 5-day fasts + pentox + NeoV's stretching routine + Mito Red Light. Curvature 99% gone.

I also used Todd Capistrant's "Fascial Distortion Model" to help my curvature. Start slowly.

TK;

Did the Urologist mention if there was any calcification of the plaque?
