Hello,

PDE5 (Sildenafil, Tadalafil) works the same way as L-Arginine, which increases the level of NO or is it a different principle of action?

PDE5 inhibitors and L-arginine can both help with Erectile Dysfunction but the way they work is different

L-arginine - this increase the amount of nitrous oxide in your body. Nitrous oxide is used by the body to relax smooth muscles cells of the vascular system and thereby the body is able to dilate blood vessels when necessary. These blood vessels include veins and vascular spaces in the corpus cavernosum. The more NO you have in your system, the more potential for relaxation = improved erections.

PDE5 inhibitors - These do not increase your levels NO. They block the enzyme which would normally break down the nucleotide responsible for smooth muscles relaxation. In short, they block a key part of the body's natural chemical messages involved in smooth muscle constriction, thereby allowing them to relax more. NO is part of this process but PDE5s do not increase the amounts you have in your body.

L-arginine and PDE5 inhibitors can be used together, but just be careful that your blood pressure does not get too low. If you start to feel dizzy a lot it probably means your blood pressure is too low.

A good metaphor I read to describe the interaction of these two: Imagine your penis as a car. L-arginine is the petrol. PDE5s are the ignition being turned on.

Can Cialis be replaced by Sildenafil?
If so what is the daily dose?
For example: 5mg Cialis = 25 mg Sildenafil - will it be OK?

If in your country viagra is cheaper use it the only thing different is cialis gives a long effect and viagra not so much, maybe this is a problem
