Probably, which is why we need more than the treatments we have now.
Age: 25
Date of onset: 17
Symptoms: sharp pains, numbness, change in shape/size, hourglassing and discolaration from jelqing/VED usage as a teen. Diagnosed with a venous leak and possible scarring.

Just read a paper yesterday..many people with Peyronies Disease who undergo an implant surgery have to be re operated in order to fix the curvature that occur again despite the implant...so implant and after a grafting surgery.

That's not a solution, that's an eviration
31 yrs old
Severe congenital curvature. 3 straightening surgeries
Big lump/stitch w/ left deviation after 2012 surgery
Severe ED after last one in 2014. Still crooked
Slightly improved w/ shockwave therapy
Looks like only one side of my penis works

A good surgeon will do both at the same time
Modeling and implant
Read JackP blog. He is a forum member but not active lately

Is sad to say this but i have read in other forum JackP died
He was a great person, he helped many people

RIP

It's something very invasive that many just cannot deal with. It's just a poor compromise, I would say outrageous in 2017....

Come on James, if it was a real solution the mood in here would be very different..

I know people who had peyronies and went to the implant and they are fine now, and the implant fixed their curvature
I do not say that the implant corrects the curvature in all cases, I do not know, but I can assure in many cases that it can do. I guess it could depend on the level of knowledge and the hability of the surgeon

I know the implant is the last solution but in many cases is the only solution really. You can choose the implant or your actual state for many years or forever, because i have seen and read many people waiting for a cure less invasive since 20 years ago and now the options now arent very differents to before.

Then i m not very confident if in 10 or 20 years other solution will exist

Only my two cents

Jack1909

This way to think repeats itself all the time..we have been waiting for 20 years so in the next 20 nothing will happen. But let's try to be a little realistic...the state of technology 20 years ago was..come on, just watch a video taken 20 years ago..

Ok, let's put the medicine way apart..just think about robotics and biotechnology..it's pretty sure than a less invasive way to overcome this crap will be found. Just a couple of days ago I read about an inflating metal that it's in advance phase of testing and will make implants outdated in a couple of years...and it's supppsed to be insert with a tiny incision on the pubis. And so on..

Nowadays we don't have just medicine as we had 20 years ago..we can see at the problem from different points of view..and that's it.

In 10 years this crap will be eradicated, even if atala could cure us all even tomorrow..

Sincerely i dont think that, i think you are in a wrong

About your way of thinking I read it in forums where some said, in the year 2000, that the future is in the stem cells and nanorobotic.. Well now is almost 20 years later and the unique process with stem cells is priapus shot and it dont work well in many cases and about nanorobotic nothing simply nothing

I cant see in the case of peyronies what they could invent, the surgeries in peyronies are primitives,(many based in traction) and this problem is being investigated since many many years ago, something similar to venous leak.

In the case of venous leak since 1800 people are investigated about this problem (sometimes relationed with peyronie), they began with the ligature of the dorsal vein, and do you know? Ligature of the dorsal vein is the process standard for venous leak now (WTH 100 YEARS LATER!) and it doesnt work in many cases, others process like sclerotherapy are similars and their results arent optimus neither.

And in relation with the new implant which you said.. I have some doubts about if it will be in the market some day, it is only a proof, it could take 20 years to be in the market (when with these things the news says ten years, it will be double or more)
Is the same as with the stem cells, since 20 years ago news talk about them, but now 2017, almost 20 years, the stem cells for erectile dysfunction continue to be underdeveloped

I dont want to seem pessimistic or unhoped but i have read many stories about people waiting and waiting for years, and finally many years later they take the deccision and many times they think they would have done years ago

But this is only my opinion, try everything before the implant, but if nothing is working, if pills injections surgeries for peyronies, surgeries for venous leaks, dont work What can you do? You wont want to be waiting all your life for a solution which is possible never happen

Jack1909

All the stuff we read about stem cells before 2012 doesn't have anything to do with what happened next. 2012 was some kind of year zero, a starting over for all the stem cell world. That's what you don't consider...

Sometimes to turn a medical breakthrough into a clinical practice takes more than a decade...atala is working on tissue replacing since 1992..that means he is a joke?

I think simply that wait 10 or more years for something which you dont know if it will come, i m not sure if it is the most adecuate.

Well for all, there is only two options:

Wait, well is possible that it come in ten years, it is possible but it is posible than not too. You could be afortunate if it come, but and if not?

The other possible, go for the actual treatment, the good point of this you arent waiting for many years, the bad point maybe only maybe in ten years there is really  something different that helps

Thats the problem wait or not. Every person will have to value this

My advice and my opinion is to set a deadline in which if nothing appears to go for what exists in that moment, dont wait eternally

Lessor,

I had Peyronies and ED.  I had no other choice but to have an implant.  The implant not only changed my Peyronies from 75 degrees left bending to perfectly straight but also gave me back a healthy sexual life.

I would do it again in a heartbeat!!
