Hey all,

I just turned 61, and have had what my general doc calls a "penis kink" (actually about a 30-degree bend) now for around 4-5 months, with a dull pain right at the bend site (during erection only) :/  I've never had any ED problems or penis injuries, and this came out of nowhere.  I'm actually in pretty good shape for 61, been married for 27 years, I feel for you guys who come down with this in your 20's & 30's.  My doc discouraged the injections but suggested I try Diltiazem.  Has anyone used this?  Did it help?  Blessings everyone.

Paolo

Hi CubsFan,
I believe Diltiazem is a calcium channel blocker, I don't have experience of it but believe it is sometimes used to treat ED, which you don't have. Searching the Internet I found the following;

It is concluded that the calcium channel blockers are effective in relaxing cavernosal smooth muscle  (CC) and therefore possess potential as intracavernous pharmacotherapeutic agents for the treatment of erectile dysfunction. Verapamil appears to be the best candidate for further testing and clinical trial.

IMHO Acetyl L-Carnitine 1000-2000mg taken separately during the day will help with the dull pain.

Please consider anything I have said as advisory as I am not a Doctor just a sufferer as well  :)
Whenever you find yourself on the side of the majority, it is time to pause and reflect.

Thanks Paulo.

JWillis, this was a word from a GP doc and not a specialist, he said that Diltiazem is a blood pressure med and might help with circulation, kinda left me feeling hollow.  From reading other posts, it sounds like seeking out a good urologist is a better bet.

If you're in or near Chicago, and you have the appropriate insurance, one of the foremost Peyronies experts around is there. Dr Laurence Levine.

I'd strongly suggest you book an appointment.
