Angus has posted a useful post on hone made VED's that includes...
"The vacuum gauge is a 1 1/2" WIKA brand with a scale of 0 to -30 inches HG of vacuum. For my application the gauge rarely if ever is brought to a readout of over -5 inches HG of vacuum"
for home made VED's
The sited hand pump in the same post "www.sciencecompany.com/Hand-Vacuum-Pump-with-Pressure-Gauge-P6489.aspx" only pumps to 50 mm Hg according to the web site.
converting 50 mm mercury to inches Mercury see site e.g. "www.onlineconversion.com/pressure.htm" comes back with 1.968 inches Hg
Can anyone confirm the required/ recommended (besides no pain) vacuum?
Thanks

kuaka

Find my home made VED unit on here.  I use the hand vacuum pump from a brake bleeder, with a gauge.  10 inches of vacuum is about the max which is comfortable (as in "not too painful"), and for very short durations.

Here is the original post on the home made cylinders.  I added the vacuum pump shortly after making them.

As Old Man stated in one as his posts:
QuoteYour penis is the best vacuum gauge
It doesn't mater what the gauge shows, you should pump to the level that no pain and no discomfort

James:

I have stated that ones own penis is the best vacuum gauge as it can ''feel'' the pressure much better than a mechanical gauge in many posts scattered throughout the main forum.

I have also found in my many years of Peyronies Disease and/or ED therapy that ones own personal feelings work much better for overall therapy remedies.

stage four radical prostatectomy in 1995, Heart surgery 2004 with three bypasses/three stents.

Thanks Kuaka - obviously the 2 inch Hg model will not pull sufficient vacuum for your requirements. - unless I was reading the web site incorrectly. It would be good to hear from anyone that has successfully used this vacuum pump

kuaka

I'm not sure of the units of measure on my hand operated vacuum pump.  It may be inches of Mercury.  It is the pump from a brake bleeder kit.  The suction is similar to what is used to milk a goat...in fact I have used it to milk Nigerian goats back when I had them.  More than 10 or 11 causes discomfort for the goat.

Hi Kuaka - good thing you are not a goat !!
You could try your pump pulling water out of a bucket and see how far it lifts the water vertically - you would need a clear tube
According to the on-line conversion calculator "10 inch mercury (32°F) = 135.954424647 inch water (4°C)"
That is 11 feet !!! I'm wondering if your gauge is reading inches of water and not inches mercury (Hg)
Is there a label on the gauge?
