Is a Doppler ultrasound the gold standard for plaque detection?  What if it does not show any scar tissue / plaque?  My peyronies was not caused from a physical "accident".  It's about a 30-35 degree bend to the left and the area is less filled out compared to the left side.

Perhaps the plaque is not dense enough to be detected?

Everybody has plaque in their penis, just like everybody has some degree of calcification of their arteries.  An ultrasound can only pick up what they call visible plaque. You can still have palpable plaque, which can be felt by the uro.   Unfortunately, just having palpable plaque can create severe curves.

I think he has a different definition of plaque in this case.
