Here's my story. I took propecia ~1.3 years ago for only 19 days, got testicular pain, erectile dysfunction, and reduced ejaculate volume. Then I quit after the 19th day. Every subsequent hairloss solution I tried seemed to bring back the side effects. I was on nizoral for a bit and had to quit that, then most recently i got an injection of PRP to my scalp. Side effects came back... once again.. this time with minor gyno and puffy nipples. Took 3 months for side effect improvements but this time it seems that my peyronies has gotten worse.

I think i've had some degree of peyronies since I was a kid as young as 13, I always had some curvature. In transition between flacid and erections I always used to see a pretty alarming hourglass formation. But now it has gotten much worse. Another thing to note is the deformation is less noticable when fully erect vs half erect.

I went to a peyronies specialist, and he looked at me, felt for plaques, couldn't find any. Wrote me off and sent me out the door. When I talked to him about how the half-errection looked the worst, he said that's not peyronies. THEN WTF IS IT? This condition keeps getting worse. I do not accept that POS docs answer. I may have lost 2 months where I could have been treating it because of him.

I have multiple new creases and lines on my penis, around where the indentations/hourglass deformation is. I can't really find much info about this. Also the plaques are not hard, and i suppose undetectable through touch.. at this point at least.. but i think it's a matter of time before it is... Also i wanted to mention that I feel like my corpus spongiosum is way softer than before and protrudes out less.

1) Is there anything different about propecia induced peyronies vs regular peyronies?

2) anyone have a similar experience?

3) List of supplements and doses to take?

4) Does trying to basically have frequent and long lasting erections help at all? In the same way that a traction device does? That's what i've been doing and im a little concerned it may be making things worse

4.5) Could having extremely hard erections (finally can get them again sometimes) cause additional scarring?

5) would going to the jacuzzi or taking advil reduce inflamation, and thus help?

6) Does peyroneis usually get worse before it gets better?

Have high quality and hard erections followed by abstinence and traction. This is what worked and continues to work for me. Hard erections are very helpful. Avoid edging and constantly checking your erections, it will only keep things inflamed.

I can't say how propecia induced Peyronie's differs but I would treat it the same as any case. It usually gets worse before getting better, and requires effort or conscious choices to get improvement. Avoid spiking your blood sugar, drinking alcohol, and smoking, and eat as many berries and healthy foods as possible. Supplements and their dosages can be found on a sticky! But basically you want to try anything that may improve penile health and CoQ10 at 400mg a day and Acetyl-L-carnitine at several grams a day. There's no guarantee these will help but the science looks good enough to warrant trying them. Other supplements which help the penis, vascular health, and act as an antioxidant may help as well. I highly recommend traction.

Appreciate the response Neov,

When you say don't smoke does that include marijuana? I've been smoking pot for 8 years straight almost every night, could that be goin against me?

NeoV

That is something I do not have the answer to but you will certainly find conflicting reports here. Some men think marijuana worsened their Peyronie's while some undoubtedly use it in hopes it will lower inflammation and improve it. Hopefully someone can chime in on this but try searching on the main forums and see what comes up. I'll do some research on it out of curiousity.

Ah yes, Post-Finasteride Syndome, I am well versed. Luckily I think i've made major improvements with that, but it has left me with a residual condition, and thus i am here.

So today I bought these supplements, some I found listed here, some on another site.
1) Bromelian
2) L-arginine
3)Omega 3
4) Acetyl-l-carnitine
5)Vitamin E
6) Gotu Kola

I took Propecia in my 30's for about a month or two and had the exact same result you did!  I lost all interest in sex and was unable to get an erection at all.  I also became so depressed that I did not want to get out of bed.  I took myself off of it and said to hell with my hair, sex is more important.  I'm now 48 and still have nice hair, but my ejaculate volume was reduced by at least 50% and never returned.  It took several months of being off of it before sex became normal, but the depression lifted almost immediately.   Propecia works by suppressing certain hormones associated with hair loss and I suspect many people experience this but don't realize it's due to Propecia.  In my opinion,  Propecia wrecked my hormones and no one warns you of this side effect - at least they didn't 15 years ago.

I would suggest you get your testosterone levels tested by a Urologist.  I had mine tested recently and they were off the charts low (Low T).  My Urologist prescribed Clomiphene Citrate 50mg (1/2 tablet daily).  What this does is tells your brain to make more testosterone and boy did it work for me!  I also have lost 10 pounds of stubborn belly fat and feel 10 years younger with lots more energy!  This is not an FDA approved use for this drug as it's normally used to treat women with low estrogen.  However,  if you go on testosterone shots or injections the net effect is that your body senses high levels of T in your blood and reduces your body's natural production.  You will have to take it the rest of your life too.   With Clomiphene Citrate,  there is a chance after 6mths or 1 year you can stop and your body will continue to make it's own T.  My doc said this is only recommended for people under 50, so you may be a good candidate if Low T is in fact your problem.

I also had Peyronies in my 30's but never considered it associated with Propecia nor did I know what I had at the time.  I remember telling my girlfriend at the time,  "you just broke my dick."  I thought that's what I had done, due to the sharp pain, but back then we didn't have so much info on the internet.  That healed up miraculously after several years of pain and a 45 degree curature.  I was fine and had a normal straight penis for at least 10 years following that, until last year when I had a similar accident, but his time has been much more complicated and not getting better yet.  On supplements,  I'm taking E, D, and B and I think the E has maybe helped reduced the plaque.  I take the other two for energy and because I tested low for both at my annual physical.  I tried L-arginine, but stopped because I felt like it was making me grumpy.  I highly recommend the VED and I hear good things about the traction but have not tried it.  The main thing, what ever you do, be it stretching exercises or whatever, be careful not to over do it and injure yourself further.

There's a ton of info on this site, so do your research, but also make sure you see qualified doctors and follow your gut instinct with your treatment plan.  Good luck my friend!

fin causes apotosis in the penis and brain.  It destroys mitochondria.
