I personally believe stem cells and tissue engineerig is the future cure for peyronies and probably the only cure there will ever be. I know that there is progression in researching this, but I haven't heard about for a while. I mailed Wake Forest where dr.Atala works, but I didn't get a reply and kinda feel it's because I'm from Holland and not a patient there. As far as I know dr.Atala has succesfully replaced penile tissue in rabbits and this summer hunan trials should start (summer 2016 is what I read). I also read that more urologists are researching this (one doc in LA that's been mentioned a few weeks ago). This is all I know for now, any updates on this subject?

I understand that it won't just happen like that, but it's nice to at least know more about this and I'm sure some of us know what's actually going on right now, right?

To all of you guys: does anybody here knows anything about current human trials at Wake Forest? As you can see at this picture: "they are confident it can be completed by late 2016".

Wake Forest have new dates for the finish line from time to time. Nothing concrete until now, so don't hope too much.
I didn't read yet about the animal trials that suppose to end at the beginning of 2015 (now close to the end of 2016) but I am not reading everything on the Internet  ;)

From what I'm read on Wake Forest website, they are already conducted animal trials:
Engineered Penile Erectile Tissue - Urology Research - Wake Forest School of Medicine

Lab-grown Replacement of Penile Erectile Tissue In Animals

QuoteIn the online early edition (Nov. 9-13) of the Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences, the researchers report success using cells from rabbits to grow replacement penile erectile tissue for the animals in the laboratory. After implantation with the replacement tissue, the rabbits had normal sexual function and produced offspring. This is the most complete replacement of functional penile erectile tissue reported to date.

No, it's just penile transplantation, and he's not a marine.
