Hello this is my first post. I was diagnosed with Peyronies Disease March 21st this year.
I saw a NHS Urologist who was apparently an worry in Peyronies Disease.
I have a cm plaque  near the base of my penis on the top near the middle. Which causes painful erections and a slight indentation whilst erect on the side, which can be encouraged to disappear with manipulation. Painful morning erections, but no problem getting erect and no pain when flCcid, pain began in December.
My Urologist said wait and see, vitamin E, it might go, might stay the same might get worse.
Needless to say I was a little deflated, excuse the pun.
All the web information talks about catching it early and doing something.
Like everyone else, I have started with all the supplements people have mentioned, but I only started after the diagnosis.
So difficult to say if they have had an effect.
The one that I have til now struggled with is Pentox,
As this is difficult to get without a prescription.
It seems effective for a lot of people, and I have managed to order Dom from River Pharmacy in Canada.
Firstly, is this a reputable site to get legitimate Pentox.
Secondly, though side effects seem minimal, how long would you need to stay on Pentox, not many people post a finish, or at least a reduction of taking these drugs,
Is it a life long commitment,
Is surgery ultimately the only way to get a permanent result.

You need to see a different Urologist, you don't want to wait and see.
Who did you see, try and get referred to Mr David Ralph team at the University College Hospital, under the NHS

Or if you have the funds you can go private with Mr David Ralph or with Dr Franklin Kuehhas London Andrology Institute.

Not sure if Pentox works or not.

As the original study on it has been dismissed as being faked.

People on here do say it works for them in the active stage, so I don't see why you shouldn't give it a try.

Before surgery you could try traction, VED or Xiaflex.

Xiaflex not on the NHS at the moment, so its an expensive treatment still.

Surgery is only as last resort and if you are in the active stage, it could take up to a year or so before it becomes stable.

You don't say if you have a bend, as surgery is only used to straighten the penis.

What ever you do don't wait.

Thank you for that.
I am based in Huntingdon Near Cambridge.
I do not ha e a bend.
Just a mild kink if you like in the middle on full erection.
Sort of a half hour glass event. But. No bend. Just very painful erections.

Your Urologist is the usual useless idiot, unfortunately. Wait and see, wait and see. You'll only wait and see it get worse, that's almost guaranteed. The time to fight this is now, not some time in the future. At worst, you want to minimize the damage whilst your in the active phase.,

Pentox may be of use. And yes, River Pharmacy are legit.

If you can get some lose dose 2.5/5mg Cialis, this can be helpful, too.

I would suggest you try VED therapy at this early stage. Traction is more to help with any curvature that may develop.,

Thank you very much for your help, that is exactly what I have been thinking,
After reading posts on this site.

Hello, this is my second post.
I am awaiting my first delivery of Pentox from River Pharmacy.
I am still anxious about taking it.
I was wondering how many people are on it.
At what dosage and whether there are any long term side effects.
Also how long do you stay on it.
Is it a lifelong commitment or can the dosage be reduced over time, eventually looking to come of it.
Lots of people talk about it working which is fantastic.
And like everyone who has this condition we become desperate to resolve it.
I have no curvature yet, 1cm of plaque at the topside base of shaft causing painful erections
No problems getting erect, I have a slight indenture on right hand side half way up, when erect.
The pain is the main thing I would like to het rid of.
Been taking supplements since diagnosis in March.
I like other newbies I suppose
Are looking for reassurances that, whether it works or not, Pentox is not going to cause any other long term serious implications

Hi Commodus67,

I think most people take 3 x 400mg a day with, or shortly after meals. Potential side effects include (copied from a website): "Nausea, vomiting, gas, belching, and dizziness may occur. If any of these effects persist or worsen, tell your doctor or pharmacist promptly.Remember that your doctor has prescribed this medication because he or she has judged that the benefit to you is greater than the risk of side effects. Many people using this medication do not have serious side effects.Tell your doctor immediately if any of these rare but very serious side effects occur: fast/irregular heartbeat, easy bruising/bleeding.Seek immediate medical attention if this rare but very serious side effect occurs: chest pain.A very serious allergic reaction to this drug is rare. However, seek immediate medical attention if you notice any symptoms of a serious allergic reaction, including: rash, itching/swelling (especially of the face/tongue/throat), severe dizziness, trouble breathing."

I've taken pentox for about a month and the only side effect I have experienced is sleep disturbances. To the best of my knowledge there are no long term side effects - I found a study where people had taken it for 4 years with no long term problems. How long you stay on it depends on how your condition develops - some people have taken it for years. It sounds like you are still in the acute phase of the disease - this is the best time to take pentox. It will hopefully ease the pain and lessen / stop the development of any curvature.

Good luck.

I've been on Pentox for about 4 months. Most days I can get 3 x 400mg in per day. Sometimes only 2.

Remember a dosing day is 24hrs, so 3x per day is every 8hrs. As everyone says you need to take it with a meal.

For the first 2 weeks I had vicious stomach acid. It must have initially really annoyed my stomach (even taking it with a meal) but because of the widespread benefits seen on the Forum I really stuck with it. The stomach irritation wore off and all is fine now. To be precise, I've always taken it towards the end of a meal to make sure the stomach is 'lined' as it were.

I've also had some odd sleeplessness and weird dream nights during this period but I can't be sure whether that is Pentox, any other supplement I am taking or some separate stress issues I have right now

P.S - it's widely believed Acetyl-L-Carnntine, 1000mg twice a day is good for pain too. Also, see this thread on heat packs for pain. Pretty effective:  Heat Packs - Peyronies Society Forums
