Hello. This is no "ad" and I´m in no way related to this clinic. This post is just intended FYI. (Did some searches on peyroniesforum.net but didn`t find this info. Sorry, if I should have overlooked it and this post is redundant)

Leaning masculinity: Enzyme Therapy helps penile curvature

Minimally invasive treatment achieved correction by an average of 30 degrees

Wide suffers referred to an unnatural penis curvature, Peyronie's estimated that more than half a million men in Germany. The Department of Urology at the University Hospital Freiburg now offers one of the first hospitals in Germany to a minimally invasive treatment. It is a mixture of two enzymes, the bacterium Clostridium histolyticum collagenase, injected directly into the causal Bindegewebsknoten [knots of conjunctive tissue/fascia of] the penis. This allows a manual modeling and aligning of the penis, which can be straightened by 30 degrees on average. The corresponding preparation is approved for therapy in February 2015 from the European Medicines Agency (EMA). The Peyronie underlies a Bindegewebsverhärtung [hardening of conjunctive tissue/fascia]. This leads to a unilateral shortening of the penis and erectile state to a bend. Sexual activity may be impossible. The biological cause is still unknown. Most men are affected between 40 and 70 years. Apart from surgical correction targeting conservative therapies so far mostly only a slowing of the disease or to relieve pain.

Support for the body and mind of men

"With the new therapy affected men is finally a minimally invasive method available that may help, even in severe cases," says Prof. Dr. Ulrich Wetterauer, Medical Director of the Department of Urology at the University Hospital Freiburg. The clinic has been involved in the pivotal trial for the drug and therefore has special experience in the novel treatment. The active compound units are injected into the hardened place at intervals of several weeks. The combination of enzymatic activity and manual flexibility to the tissue hardening dissolves and the curvature regresses. After a first approval of the active substance was dismissed in 2012 due to insufficient data available, a clinical study of 832 patients has now shown a significant effect of therapy. The treatment should be performed by a certified urologist who recognize existing risks and complications early. As treatment costs can amount to several thousand euros, a clarification of the treatment by the respective health insurance is strongly recommended.

As far as I can tell this is just an article on the availability of Xiaflex in Germany :-)
