Hi everyone,

Considering ordering Pentox from River Pharmacy for corporal fibrosis. I'm keen to hear people's thoughts on whether it would be beneficial, given it's effect on blood viscosity, or whether it would be pointless. I've found one article online that suggests potential benefit:

"Furthermore, pentoxifylline treatment after cavernous nerve injury in rats improved erectile recovery, enhanced nerve regeneration, and preserved the corpus Cavernosum micro-architecture. The clinical availability of this compound merits its application in penile rehabilitation studies after RP in the near future"

And one that suggests it has no effect:

"Pentoxifylline had no significant effect on the recovery of Erectile Function after a T-shunt procedure [to treat ischaemic priapism] , but a larger study (double-blinded) is required for a more accurate assessment of any beneficial effect of pentoxifylline after a T-shunt procedure."

Thoughts?

Many thanks

Peety

The Uro I saw a couple of weeks ago would not prescribe Pentox. He said there was no evidence it had any effect on Fibrosis and that the oral concentrations taken wouldn't have any local effect anyway.

I'm not saying that is my point of view as the anecdotal evidence on the Forum for Pentox is quite high, with, in general, very little or no downside to taking it.

Interestingly, the Uro I saw was the co-author of the paper by Dr David Ralph on the use of VED to treat Peyronies Disease

As a P.S, the course of Pentox I am on, I also bought from River. Arrived in a week, no problems. all very professional

Thanks Gutted. Very pleased to hear you got Pentox from River no problems. I'm not surprised that a British uro wouldn't prescribe it. May I ask his name, just out of interest?

I'll look it up and PM you the answer to that one

The leading urologists in the US are prescribing Pentox.
Maybe Pentox have no effect on Europeans, even it helped me.

Lost 2" length and a lot of girth. Late start, still VED, Cialis & Pentox helped. Prostate surgery 2014.
Got amazing support on the forum

I am almost certain that the issue, in the UK anyway, is that the NHS will not allow Pentox to be prescribed because Peyronies Disease is not what it is for and there is no conclusive evidence it cures.

They will do anything to save money, so these two reasons give them the perfect excuse to not be able to prescribe it. They use exactly the same reasons for not prescribing Cialis.

So folks in the UK have to pay privately to get this stuff if they can find a Doctor who will write a private prescription for it (both are controlled prescription only drugs in the UK)

This has been my experience with 2 different Uro's and one GP in the UK. I gave up the fight as wanted to get on these 2 drugs ASAP. Any UK guys want these drugs ... PM me and I'll tell you how I did it

It's the same here in Spain. Pentox I can buy without prescription, so if you're here on holiday, you can buy it in any Farmacia. Cialis is prescription only.

I believe you can buy Cialis from an online pharmacy in the Uk. You have to fill in a medical questionnaire, and their own doctor will prescribe it for you. Tell them it's for E.D.

Yes, that's how I did it ...... I just didn't want to break Forum rules by posting links to the exact commercial sites

I bought the Pentox from an international online pharmacy and as you say, I used a UK site to do the prescribing and dispensing of Cialis by pretending it was for ED

You are very well informed Jon   :)

Pentox has been clearly demonstrated to prevent fibrosis, and even increase nitric oxide in the penis via the same means as Cialis, which is rarely mentioned.

Exactly how valuable this is, is unclear to me. Caffeine for example, does the exact same thing, so why not just have three cups of coffee a day instead and get all the benefits of coffee for your health as well?

I am working on understanding exactly how xanthine derivitives actually differ but it's proving difficult to pin down the exact studies or references.

As a joke, I told my wife just a second ago that perhaps the reason why I've craved so much chocolate and coffee since a young age is because my body needs the xanthine derivitives (theobromine, caffeine etc).

Dr Kuehhas prescribed me Cialis after my surgery. I bought it online as it was cheaper than the high street chemist. I noticed that it was possible to buy it by basically self certifying.

Yep, that's true. And when it comes to private prescriptions I think there are a number of accountability issues, not to mention professional reputation concerns. The uro that prescribed me potaba..I could tell he was quite reluctant.

This is interesting. I've read mostly bad things about caffeine up to this point, such as it significantly elevating levels of the 'stress hormone' Cortisol, which can exacerbate/cause ED, amongst other things. Perhaps I should drink a little more, not less.
