I'm not to concerned with reducing the curvature (I haven't measured lately, but I'm probably close to 65-70 percent up and left).

However, I am interested in knowing if the quality of your erection improved.  With the curvature, I have moderate hour glassing.

Also, what's the average cost and did insurance ever cover it?  Thanks.

I'm curious about this too.. I can't seem to get a clear picture of what xiaflex is really doing for people.

Xiaflex IS a covered medication by many insurances however in most cases required an authorization that is obtained by the doctors office that has prescribed the drug to you. Depending on YOUR plan, there may be other medications that you will have to have tried and failed before being able to be approved for tue Xiaflex (step therapy) this also can be a high level tier drug so it can cost more but your doctors can fight to get a tier level exception and get a lower cost for you. You must keep in mind that coverage for medications depends on your specific plan. example: All BCBS plans are not the same.

Moderator since 2015- Missouri- I work in the medical field and have strong knowledge of insurance and how to obtain coverage for medication and other treatments. Being a woman I do not have Peyronies but you can ask me anything. I am happy to help.

Call U.S. Bioservices and ask them.  They handle the finance end.  They'll find out for you.  They get a cut, so they're happy to help.  They'll also tell you which doctors in your area have the most referrals and/or requests for Xiaflex.  Chances are pretty good it's covered, I think.  And don't just look in the carrier's drug formulary (or whatever it's called).  It wasn't in BCBS's in Florida, but they cover it.  U.S.B. will help you.  Mind you some employees are not helpful, but others are.  Persist.

There is an actual cost.  That is what I'm curious about.  Obviously everyone has different insurance and we aren't going to pay the same, but the cost is what I'm looking for.

I'm fairly certain that it's not covered for me.

Nuschler,

Xiaflex costs a boat load. This is from a NY Times article. Even at a 20% copay you are looking at $4,200.

Xiaflex costs $3,300 an injection, so a full course of eight injections would cost about $26,000, in addition to a doctor's fee. Doctors already use less expensive drugs off-label to treat Peyronies, including injections of a generic blood pressure drug.Dec 6, 2013

Nuschler;

Xiaflex is horribly expensive. It's cheaper than $3300  in London, but still around £1800 - approx $2600. Worse still, Xiaflex is not guaranteed to even work!

A 65-70 degree curvature is pretty debilitating. Rather than spend $26,000 on Xiaflex, you may as well elect for surgery. At least you would be sure of having a straight dick for your money!
