Ive been looking into whether or not a ams700 implant is a good option for me. my sex life is non existent the last year or so. progression and shrinkage continue almost 3 years in. dont know where else to turn to try to salvage any chance of a sex life again at age 48. its killing my marriage and its only a matter of time before my wife strays if she hasnt already. i wouldnt blame her i guess. what a mess this is. anyhow... im finding it very difficult to find any positive feedback on this devise. a lot of bad experiences out there, i know there have been new approaches for install recently. hard to find folks who have had it done within the last year or so. Jack P is the only one who pops up.. ive been aware of him and his story for the last couple of years and he seemed inspirational. that being said? ive found him in other forums across the internet and i have become very suspicious that he may be a "plant" from the company who makes the ams700.. i say that because in every forum....his replies and posts are word for word, just cut and pastes from his blog from years ago. he doesnt say anything new really and like i said it appears his posts are just cut and pasted over and over again. literally word for word. i find that odd.. after 3 years of talking about your experiences? i would vary on my wording a bit i would think and add up to date feedback. he only seems to talk about the first year and a half or so. something smells fishy here. anyhow, iy makes it all the more difficult to make an informed decision. there seems to be more negative feedback than positive. anyone else here have a 3 piece installed? can anyone direct me to another forum specific to implants? thanks...not having much luck on my own

If there is someone posting actively on other forums as JackP, I would question if it is the same person. Of course any one can pick there own screen name if not already used. The only reason I say this, is because what you describe is not typical of  the JackP several of us on this forum have come to know.

Jack used to be very active on this site, he is older, and a few years ago was hit by a car in a parking lot. His health has been bad ever since. I know he checks in on this forum a few times but his health has really held him back. My opinion is that he would be more active on this site over any others if his health permitted.

I know that Old Man knows Jack as well so I yield to any comments Old Man wants to add in here as well.

I do know (and I am sure you do as well) that Jack had nothing but high praise for the AMS700 and often saying it was the gold standard for implants. But that was several years ago and I don't know if there have been other advances in implants since then. There are 3 models now of the AMS700 with the LGX model appears to be the 'high end' model.

Just to add my 2 cents to the Administrator Willis: Yes, Jack is well known by me on this forum in that he and I have worked to put together the protocols for VED therapy.

In addition, Jack has developed his blog, known as "my history" in his foot note to his posts. Yes, Jack has experienced a very difficult time in the past five or six years. Due to the accident where he was struck by a vehicle in the parking lot of his hospital. Recovery from that with the added prostate cancer before and following on ailments that have caused him much pain and suffering. He would be very active today if not for those health and mental anguish problems associated with them.

Now, a word about his implant experience: He had his implant surgery done over 5 years ago now. Prior to the surgery, he and I developed the protocol that he used before the surgery to help him achieve his best dimensions in prep for the surgery in case there was a loss of them with the surgery.

For some reason, a new member lately seems to have questioned the ability of Jack to present the best opinion of using the AMS three piece implant. His success with that device helped him to regain sexual ability and not lose any dimensions as a result of the surgery. As a result of his experience and that of others on this forum, I highly recommend any member in the process of choosing an implant that he research the VED home page index for posts relative the implant surgery before make a final decision for getting the procedure done.

Our position on this forum is this: exhaust all other forms of treatment/therapy before even considering implant surgery. Once done, implants can only be replaced if they go bad as the penis CANNOT BE RESTORED TO ITS ORIGINAL SIZE AND SHAPE. ONCE THIS PROCEDURE IS DONE, THERE IS NO TURNING BACK!!

The above carries my usual caveat: Let the buyer beware!!

Since the above post was made very early on the penile implant history, there have been quite a number of very good advances in upgrading VEDs and their use. Many members have had implants done since the date of the above original post and have had great success with two brands of reliable penile implants. Any new member seeking help in deciding upon an implant should do some extended research on the many threads/topics of penile implant surgery. This would enable them to find good information on deciding upon using implant surgery.

I will add my words here as JackP of our forum is for sure not JackP of other forums.
Unfortunately he is not online much in the last couple of years, but he was and is the inspiration of many on this forum.
If you want more information about AMS 700, login to FT as redbullmaster and pfract proposed you.
You will find there many testimonials on AMS and Coloplast implants and different surgeons.
And by the way, Jack is my friend and Old Man friend also and he never worked/working for AMS.

Hello Edzo67. I have been away from this site for quite a while so I am sorry that I did not see your post sooner. Hope you see it now. First, let me assure you that JackP does-or did- exist. I have talked with him on the phone. He lives in TN. I say "or did" only because the last time I saw an email from him, he was very sick & had been in & out of the hospital. I honestly don't know if he has passed away. Bu I certainly hope not. Jack has been an inspiration to many Peyronies Disease sufferers over the years & I guaranty that he has no affiliation with AMS.
That being said, let me move to the subject of your questioning. How has the AMS 700 worked or held up over time. I had the surgery in May of 2009 at age 67. Luckily, it was covered by Medicare. Since then (almost 7 years), I met the woman of my dreams in 2010 & we enjoy a ongoing sexual relationship that I wish I had in my younger years. The device has been incredibly reliable & has never given me a problem. The hardest part of the process was the decision. Yes, there was pain in the recovery but, in the end, it has all been worth it. Now I can continue to enjoy sex until I die or my testosterone gives out. I recently had a urologist check me out & he reported that the AMS 700 is the best he has ever seen or heard of for durability & satisfaction. I hope that you will not believe that I too have any relationship with AMS. I am real & I live in CT. I stopped reading or responding on the Forum a few years ago because I just didn't have the time &, frankly, my personal problem has been resolved. If you have questions, please let me know.

thank you for the reassurances guys! its sometimes difficult to know who has noble intentions and those who are preying on our desperate situations. im still on the fence regarding an implant as i still have somewhat workable erections. i have recently begun taking pentox and it has appeared to help somewhat. i seem to have regained about 3/8" in my stretched length. though that could be related to recent weight loss from kidney stone issues. i am scared of losing more size and procrastinating on getting implanted and living with the additional size losses. funny thing? it all still seems like a bad dream and ill wake up some day back to my normal self. it really blows my mind that we are capable of suffering such a horrible affliction. the depression is overwhelming at times and the lack of sexual confidence is immasculating. anyhow,thanks again fellas

I am glad to see that you saw my post. Believe me, I can identify with the self-recrimination feelings you express. There is not a Peyronies Disease sufferer on this site who hasn't felt "less of a man" by the effects of the affliction. I have to say, however, that I learned a valuable lesson about how to define myself. In the 3 years that I was impaired from performing sex, I never had a single female partner (I was single at the time) make me feel inadequate or a disappointment as a lover. It was always in my head-not theirs. Mostly due to porn, we place way too much emphasis on size & sex in general. You made reference to it being "just a matter of time" before your wife starts looking for someone who can replace you. I can only encourage you to talk with her about your doubts and fears. That's what intimacy is about. Don't allow yourself to be beaten by the disease both physically & mentally.
My decision to proceed with implant surgery was made without a wife or girlfriend telling me that I was an unsuccessful lover. It was a purely selfish motivation to not be defeated by my own feelings of insecurity. It has worked & I am so grateful to God for giving me not only a 2nd chance physically but also teaching me what is most important in a loving relationship.
I encourage you to not obsess about size loss as well as to seek out a urologist who has a specialty in implant surgery. Believe it or not, many are not. My dr. was not only skilled in his field but also understood my fears & misgivings. The key is to get off your butt & do something!
