Hey everyone

I've been reading through the forum for a couple weeks now and thought an introduction is in order. I'm 30 years old and started noticing my peyronie's right around my birthday. At first I hoped that it would be a temporary thing but after a few weeks I decided to do something. Found this forum (but didn't really read through all the important posts) and decided to buy a traction device.

When I got Peyronie's I was still in a relationship, which has since fallen apart, and the sex was always bearable without too much pain. My curvature of around 45 degrees to the left made intercourse difficult, however. The last two months I haven't been sexually active and while I do plan on continuing to date, I'm a little worried about my peyronie's, both because I don't know how much pain I'd have now and because of possible reactions.

I've been using my traction device for around three months now, so far without much success (I bought the Phallosan, so that I could wear it at night, but as I'm a busy sleeper, I'm not sure that it stays put during the night). A month back I read all that I could find on here and decided to visit an Uro, which (unsurprisingly) was of no help and prescpribed Vit. E and a wait and see approach. As I was already aware of all the relevant studies I wanted him to prescribe me Pentox (which he didn't do). He did however (probably just to get rid of me) refer me to another doctor at the local university hospital.

The second Uro (Alexander Müller, University Hospital Zurich, Switzerland) was much more knowledgeable and thankfully subscribed me Pentox and encouraged me to try VED. With the help of Old Man I just started with VED (still doing traction as well). I also have been taking Pentox, L-Carnitine, L-Arginine and Q10 for the past couple of weeks. At the moment I'm also contemplating visiting Dr. Virag in Paris (which is only 4 hours by train from where I live) for PRP treatment. I realize that this battle will not be a short one, however, I would like to do everything possible to maximize my chances of success.

I will keep you in the loop. Thank you so much to all the members who made this forum the great ressource it is today!

Hello Dros,

Well it sounds like you are in a good place as far as the "what to do's" of Peyronies, you have sought medical help from the proper physician, have started meds, and have gone to Old Man for VED advise. I am glad that you found the forum and I hope we can help with any questions you may have. I would have to say to you that as far as "reactions" go with females, honesty will be the best policy. Unless you are just looking to have sex with just anyone I would imagine that you get to know the person before you reach the moment of intimacy, if you think that you are wanting to take that step, then be open with the potential partner, tell her about Peyronies and offer to show her the forum so she can learn about it as well. Your first priority at this point though should be you comfort and knowing what you can do without causing yourself pain.

Welcome to the forum and please ask us anything

Well, first of all, welcome to the club that none of us really wants to be a member of.

You've done pretty much all the right things. Idiot Uros, like your first one, should all be given a dose of Peyronies themselves!  I Bet they'd take it seriously then!

As far as oral supplements go, look at daily low dose Cialis. It does help with this disease. Also consider ALC, Citrulline Malate, CoQ10 or Ubiquinol.

Depending on the extent of your plaque and assuming it's not calcified, you may want to look at Xiaflex ( Xiapex in Europe). There have been some mixed reviews from those who have undergone treatment with it, but there are several members who have had success with it.

Dros

I would consider Xiaflex, were it not so expensive. Xiaflex has apparently been approved for treatment in Switzerland only two months ago and insurance is not paying for it. According to my Uro one round of Xiaflex would cost >2000$... PRP in Paris would be expensive as well, but one round of treatment costs 'only' €550, which is still less than 1/3. As far as I can tell PRP might be even more promising than Xiaflex and has fewer side-effects, so I'd rather go that route. What do you think Jonbin, do you have experience with one or both?

Jonbinspain

I could have opted for Xiapex treatment. However, I had a severe curvature and calcified plaque. My doctor/surgeon informed me that, firstly there was no guarantee that Xiapex would work at all. Secondly, if it did work, I would get max 30% improvement in my curvature. I agree, it is very expensive. PRP, I have no experience of. There is a section on the site devoted to it though.

I opted for Stage technique surgery with Dr Kuehhas my surgeon. It all seems to have gone very well. I still have weeks and months of penile 'physio' to go through to get my old size back, but the erections I'm getting at the moment are completely straight.

And jobispain. Do u have any ED symptons?

Jonbinspain

No, I don't suffer from ED. It will take a bit more time to get proper erections back after my surgery, but My erections are getting firmer and stronger.
