Pentox, 6 doses a day?

Hello everyone,

After noticing a 5 degree worsening of conditions, I've decided to up my usual 3 x 400mg a day pentoxifylline to 6 a day, being of younger age and suffering no side effects even taking with no food before bed, I think now's the time to hit the plaque with the best dose, even if it wasn't 5 degrees. It may even get better, it's nearly been 10 months since initial injury, so I may as well throw a lot at it, while it's still, hopefully, not calcified.

What do you think is better 3 doses with food (each dose 2 x 400mg), or 6 doses (each 400mg) spaced out during the day, 3 with food, 3 without?

If you Google "pentoxifylline absorption" there's an interesting drugs.com article.

Have been reading about Cmax and AUC (quite tricky to understand) but I think food helps absorption. Can someone make sense of the absorption bit?

I will not take Pentox without food and not later than 6 PM, but is me.
In my opinion take 2*400 mg with meal 3 times a day
or 400 mg with meal 6 times a day
From many posts on the forum I understand that people were prescribed 2*400 mg 3 times a day with meal.

Thanks James for that, I am wondering if am opening my self up for problems in the future if I have pentox without food 3 times a day? (Still have zero side effects)

Difficult to answer to this question pressure.
Why not just take with food?
You should monitor your white blood cells level from time to time to see if Pentox does not effect your immune system.

I know this is an old topic, but I am reviving it, as I am taking pentox with food.
Anyone thinking that without food would be better?

I've always taken it on an empty stomach. Probably a mistake since it has a very low water solubility. Also: I went as high as a little over 10 grams a day, watching out for signs of internal hemorrage.
