Pentox Efficacy Long After Disease Onset
« on: November 29, 2015, 07:22:32 PM »

Hey all on this friendly forum,

Pentox related question here. I am wondering what people have found with pentox if significant time has elapsed since the onset of disease. I received my diagnosis in June 2014, roughly 18 months ago. I was prescribed the whole regimen including pentox. Unfortunately, I was unable to consistently take it for months at a time.

Now, however, my life has settled down and I would be able to comply well. My disease has progressed somewhat but not terribly, although the plaques do seem firmer. I'm wondering if it is worth it to begin another course of pentox. Has anybody had any success with it later in the progression of the disease, not just early?

Thanks so much all,

I am quite sure the studies suggest that the plaques actually reduce in size and firmness upon taking pentox for a while, even for those who already have the disease and appear to have stabilized.

Any other opinions?

Thanks for your response. So you are saying pentox has been shown to be useful, even if you initiate treatment long after disease onset? Anyone have experience starting pentox long after diagnosis?
