Hi,

A dumb question that just occurred to me. I recently started Pentox, 400 mg. The instructions on the bottle say three times a day. I know I had read elsewhere to take them with food, so I put an alarm on my phone for 3 doses at roughly mealtimes, so like 9 a.m. (I'm not one of those people who gets up at 6 a.m. and immediately has eggs or whatever), 1 p.m., and 7 p.m. However, I've ended up taking them not with food several times an had no adverse effects, digestive or otherwise. So I'm wondering if I should actually be spacing them evenly over a 24 hour period – one right before bed, one right when getting up, and one right in the middle of waking hours. Probably doesn't make a huge difference, but I'm just thinking that there's a long period between 7 p.m. and 9 a.m. where it could be working it's magic but the 7 p.m. dose has petered out. Did anyone's doctor/pharmacist tell them anything about the dose spacing?

As long as the gaps you leave don't regularly exceed your usual gap by 4-5 hours more you should (will) be fine.

You know, I used to worry about that stuff, but over time you'll get into a regime.

Also I get no side effects without food, I think older members suffer the side effects. Try to take with food, as it's better absorbed, but I have also taken without when in a rush.

Your question is not dumb at all.
The ideal will be every 8 hours but:
* Take always with meal, even you have no side effects to protect your stomach.
* I will not take later than 6:00 PM. Many members complained of side effects if taken later. Caused me insomnia and excessive sweating.
