Hello all, just wanted to introduce myself and express how happy I am that I found this forum.  I was diagnosed about a year ago after finding a lump.  I went to a urologist, who said I was "lucky" because the plaque runs lengthwise, on the top, so it won't cause any curve.  He said go about your business as if nothing is wrong, and it won't get worse.  Well, a year later, I guess I'm still in the "active" phase because it hurts, the lump is a little bigger, and I'm starting to see a minor indentation, so I'm seriously concerned that this whole 12-18 month business is a load of BS.

Now, as a side note, I was a wrestler in college and have cauliflower ears.  So having dealt with deformed soft tissue before, I am very aware that it's possible to reinjure yourself over and over again in perpetuity, and the damaged tissue keeps on building.  I wish urologists would connect the dots and recommend the right treatments and behavior, instead of making us believe there's a finish line where no more damage can occur.

I also see a lot of people recommending massage and stretching, and I can't help but think this is the last thing you would want to do.  A fresh cauliflower ear, for instance, is filled with fluid and either needs to be left alone to heal, or drained by a professional, in order to heal up and solidify with minimal deformity.  I would think that massaging a peyronies plaque and being sexually active would only aggravate damaged penile tissue.  But I'm not a urologist, and a penis isn't an ear!

I'd love to get some recommendations from people who have some experience with my current phase.  I feel way too young to be facing a death sentence on my sex life!  Right now my fiance and I are only having sex twice a month on average, mostly because I'm afraid of further damaging myself, and also due to the inherent humilation of the disease.

Am I going about this all wrong?  Is more sex actually a more effective preventative behavior?

Thanks fellas -

Well, i don't have much time to reply, but i would advise you to read as much as you can on the forum, so you can start some form of treatment which can lead to some improvement. And it's none of my business, but as you stated here.... sex twice a month with your fiance, is a bit of killer in terms of caution... :x

As pfract wrote, read as much as you can to understand what other are doing, have done to treat they Peyronies.
Most important in my opinion is to find a real Peyronies specialist to be diagnosed and start treatment. With everything is written on the web and doctors are saying, Peyronies is not going away without treatment.
