Hi guys, I don't know how to tell when the acute phase has ended.

LWillisjr

It is generally lasts 12-18 months after the first onset of symptoms. And after the disease has stabilized in terms of pain or any further symptoms. I don't know how to define it any further.

Is it generally agreed then that pain / aching is only associated with the acute phase ?

Are there any thoughts on whether pain is associated only when symptoms are getting worse or have people had pain in the acute phase where symptoms have not got worse??

LWillisjr

There are always exceptions and complications. But in general.... yes I believe most feel that pain is associated with the acute phase. And then symptoms stabilize and the pain generally subsides.

Hey guys,
I have recently noticed two new lumps to the side near the base of my penis. About 8 months ago i first noticed the lump midway up on the top of my penis. Deformity presented as an indent on the right side which has got longer. I had hoped it had settled down though and was approaching the chronic phase. No such luck. Does the appearance of these new lumps spell disaster for me?So far they dont seem to have made much change but erections are weaker. I could be imagining that though. Anyway my question is this. DO these new plaques mean the clock has reset on my peyriones, as in it will be 12- 18 months before it settles down with these new plaques? I'm going to start VED asap and have been on 50ml of viagra twice a week for the last 6 months.Time to get serious about this crap I think though I had hoped I was over the worst of it. Anyway I'm looking for discussion oh phases if anyone has anything to contribute/advice..

I've read / been told that Acute can range from 6 - 18 months. Basically, I reckon therefore, no one really knows and each individuals case is different.

I'm about ~9 months in and the size, 'feeling' / texture, location of my plaques has all changed to the touch but the deformities I have remain exactly the same

Irish_worried

Well that's somewhat reassuring. If nothing else at least t it motivation to start ved as I should have been taking care of the dent because it has got bigger. Still fml  >:(

By symptoms stabilising would you include a strengthening of the penis as a by product of the acute phase passing. Hinging etc improving?

Generally, the chronic phase has been entered when the disease has stopped progressing.

In classic cases, the pain subsides or goes, calcification of the plaque may begin, etc.

It doesn't mean that you'll necessarily get any improvement. Just a slowing or halt to the progress.

I have a dull ache pretty much all the time. Pain is worse when I have an erection and hits the 10 bell post ejaculation. I guess this is symptoms of the acute phase?

I feel you CSM... Ive stopped having sex/masturbation all together cause of the post ejac pain
Thinking that the impermanent is permanent will always result in suffering experienced as loss.

Yep .... by very unanimous opinion on this Forum, starting VED ASAP is the most effective non-invasive approach to dents / hourglass

If you've not looked in depth, make sure you fully read the VED section and completely understand the treatment Protocol (how to do) as VED is a gentle long-term therapy for success and where being too aggressive and impatient carries the risk of further injuries of varying types !

If it's any help, I'm in the Acute phase still but the hinging weakness has strengthened but the overall physical deformity appearance hasn't changed. Specifically, I mean, I have hourglass at the point of upward curve, so when erect in the early days, I easily 'folded' upward and back at that deformity point, if you know what I mean.

I don't know exactly what has happened physiologically to strengthen it but it can only be as a result of the heat, traction, VED and oral supplements, as nothing else has changed.
