Glad I found this amazing resource, not glad I need it but as I undoubtedly do, thank you for being here.
Personal details: Mid 60's. ED for a number of years, prescribed Cialis for most of the last 10 years. (Note: ED coincided with Spinal Osteoarthritis development. Wear and tear as the Doc says).
What I now believe to be Peyronie's Disease set in about 3 months ago. Still waiting to see a Urologist following my Local Doctor's recommendation. Symptoms I exhibited at the time of seeing my Doctor were: Severe pain along both sides of the penis during erection and what appeared to look like a constricting band of tissue encircling and narrowing the shaft an inch or so from the base. The shaft above this band now bent upward at a steep (to me anyhow) angle. I've also lost a bit of length. Following numerous web searches I understand this effect is known as 'Hourglass'.
I explained as best I could to the Doc, that it had appeared following an injury during sex, with my Wife on top (regular cause according to the WWW). I told him I thought it had snapped or fractured.  I could not show him the full  effects at the time for obvious reasons. The Doctor agreed that a fracture was possible but a referral to the Urologist would be necessary. Waiting on that. Peyronie's wasn't mentioned.
Nowhere near as painful during erection as it was but the bend and band are causing me much mental grief. My Wife is very supportive, thank God, but it is getting me down to put it mildly. Finding this Forum has helped enormously and I'm sure it will continue to alleviate the worries I have via the wealth of info in the Forum. Thanks for being here.

Sorry you have joined us but we are all here to support/help. I suspect mine was also caused by using the "Cowgirl" position as we both used to enjoy this. So we have found others we like equally as well now  :)

where in wales are you?
Just outside of Swansea, the only Welsh City with a Premier League soccer team  ;)

As for my condition: At my age it's not seen as a priority by the National Health Service. Is it Peyronie's? Is it a fracture? Is it life threatening? Gawd knows, not much I can do about it other than read through the wealth of info on here while I await the Urologist appointment. My Wife says 'What's the obsession with your "thing". She can't see a problem, even remarked that the narrowing and bend feel different in a nice way  ::). Ok for me at my time of life (winding down) and in a stable relationship but I really feel for the younger people on here. My problem pales in comparison and I can only offer my sincere sympathy and hope partners and prospective partners share the same view as my Wife, which is 'no big deal'. Not sure what she means by that  ;)

Hello Welshdan,

I really just wanted to welcome you and state the obvious, you have a good woman by your side. Some of our guys have not been as lucky and some don't feel they will be that lucky, maybe with more stories like yours they will believe it is possible. Thank you for sharing :)
Moderator since 2015- Missouri- I work in the medical field and have strong knowledge of insurance and how to obtain coverage for medication and other treatments. Being a woman I do not have Peyronies but you can ask me anything. I am happy to help.
