How should flaccid penis feel like?

Ok guys, a weird question but let me explain. I don't have any memory of how my flaccid penis actually felt like before I got peyronies, and started to keep closer attention to it. So let's share some descriptions shall we.

How should healthy flaccid penis actually feel like? I mean, when you squeeze it, press it, feel it from the inside. This sounds silly, but it's a big question as obviously one does not have anything to compare to if there's no exact memory from the past.

When you squeeze it, should it be all soft from the inside, like the deepest parts as well?

In the dorsal part that goes inside under the pelvic bone, should it be soft or is there some hard ligaments on top of the penis?

Should there be ANY more or less solid parts when flaccid or is it all because of this condition?

In my case, when I squeeze it, it feels first very soft like a sponge. Then on the inside, the "septal" part is actually a very hard structure, all the way along the shaft without exceptions. Like that part between the 3 chambers, there's a solid "frame" inside which doesn't change according to if you have erection or not etc. It feels almost like the middle wall in your nose, or the structure in your ears.

On top of the penis there's a very stiff "ligament" or band, around 1/2 inch or more wide, that goes all the way inside the body, underneath the pelvic bone. This is very solid always.  I honestly have no idea if this for example is due peyronies, or if this is part of the normal structure?

Also in the top of the shaft (dorsal part) if you squeeze it sideways, there's a hard "cover" that goes on the top side of the shaft all the way to the glans. Doctor once described this as a peyronies-based "band-like" structure that is very common.  So at least this one shouldn't be there I guess.

This confuses me, because if all of this is peyronies plaque or something like that, then it's amazing that for all these years I've not yet lost too much length and only some of the girth, and I've been able to have erections. So it has to be flexible still...

I do remember how was my flaccid before Peyronies. :)
It was very soft everywhere. I never squeeze it to the point that I will have pain, but it was soft everywhere and was very easy to stretch it. No any chord or ligament that I was able to feel.

Thanks for input, james :) Hmm, that's the thing I've been thinking of as I don't remember. Weird idea though, that it would not have any "more solid" frame inside as it feels like it's been there from the beginning, but perhaps not.

So, normal flaccid penis don't have any kind of stiff ligament/cord on top of the penis, in the base just below pelvic bone, right? I have one which is actually maybe even stronger than the wall inside your nose if you compare it, yet still my penis is easily stretched while flaccid, and length is the same. Weird..

I think it depends on a lot of things. Obviously one's flaccid penis will hang differently if he's being chased through a frozen pond by a polar bear vs. if he's relaxing in a hammock in 85 degree weather.  Depends on your meds, your mood, your mind, and the functioning of all sorts of other parts of your body.

Since I developed Peyronie's I've been much more conscious of my penis and often witness it do some pretty strange things.  It'll shrink up tiny and hard, it will sometimes be long and soft and I can barely feel the nodules, it'll sometimes twist itself left and right. Sometimes the bend seems to straighten out then come back with a vengeance...

All sorts of things.  Sometimes there's pain in the penis, sometimes there's no pain.  Sometimes the pain seems to come from my groin or even my back.

Peyronie's is a weird affliction. It will mess with your mind just as much as it messes with your shlong.  For some guys I think it's even more.

Yes indeed, of course the shape changes. But actually, I went to check with urologist today since it's been few years since last time, and what he told was confusing.

He said that yes, in healthy penis there should be a "hard" cord like structure on top of the penis, which is the part where the veins and nerves go inside. And this indeed feels almost like a "bone" when you feel it at the base of the penis.  Also he told that between the CC's in the septal part, that should be hard too, as it's the frame of penis where other things attach to.

Well, don't know what to think now.. I always thought these were just changes made by peyronies..

However this urologist was pretty unfamiliar with this condition in general, he also told me he couldn't feel any actual plaques even though I've already been diagnosed few years back and the same plaques are still there..

Thank you so much for writing this, Steveo. Your post helped me a lot. I have gone through very similar experiences as you wrote here.  I am on the Xiaflex treatments - will start the 3rd cycle next week. I haven't seen much improvement like some people do here. I have been living with Peyronies Disease for 2 years. In my case, most of my suffering is going through all the weird things / feelings and uncertainty.

My only hope right now is that I will get better after I complete the Xiaflex shots.

is it necessary to have bold red letters here? what IS your problem? I merely quoted some one who wrote helpful posting and wanted to thank him.

Yes johnlee it is necessary to have the remarks in bold red as it is not the first time you are not obeying the forum rules.

Now that's funny.  This is also how you "quote" someone...minimal, just for effect.  We don't want entire posts repeated as quotes all over the place as it would clutter the messages up tremendously.  This is one of the cleanest forums I've ever been on.  Good job moderators.

On topic: I noticed tangible scarring just below the circumcision scar after my severe injury in 1981.  That part seems stable, but may be related to the "classic" Peyronie's I manifest today.  Flaccid, my Peyronie's plaque is barely detectable...squeezing/pinching it feels like a small lump that shouldn't be there.  Stretched, I can feel it, and with any erection of course it is prominent.  If you can feel the plaque when flaccid, it is well defined.  This is both good and bad.  Bad in that it is there at all.  Good in that if you go with xiaflex or other direct injection medications, you know precisely where to put them.
