My progression

Andros

Alright it all started 10 days ago. I noticed after pain which indicated me that something is no ok this time I noticed an indentation on the right side

of my penis on its base when flaccid midshaft when erect?

Visited the uro. He performed ultra sound check and found no plaques but palpable scar tissue so he said there is scar tissue but no plaque. He

prescribed vit e and potaba and unofficially he also suggested penis extender. I expressed my concerns that I hear they are useless and he said

potaba is the only one with indication. Instead I immediately started pentox 4 x 400 mgs now. I ordered an Andropenis extender and a pump to

start Ved. Pain is unbearable. I have been very stressed and greatly depressed. This is something I am sure I  cannot cope with. I am not sure

what the progression will be there is uncertainty and once you get diagnosed then you do not know whether it will get worse or not and put it

behind your mind.

kuaka

Not sure what the delineating characteristic are before a Dr will call scar tissue in the penis/Tunica "plaque".  Perhaps it is after is has compromised "x" area?  Pain on erection is a strong indicator that the Tunica structure is compromised.

Andros

In flaccid state ultra sound showed no plaque or visible scaring. I saw that too I was in front of the Ultra sound screen.

kuaka

Unfortunately, ultrasound doesn't show everything.  The fact that there is pain and indentation is pretty definitive.  Hopefully re-examination at brief intervals will turn up evidence.

Jonbinspain

If there is scar tissue present it is almost certainly Peyronies. Unless you know of any other good reason for its presence?  The scar tissue is currently active - hence the pain. Keep with the  Pentox, if you can. It will help reduce the inflammation.

Andros

The pain has been reduced almost gone. It is more like mild pain and discomfort. I noticed slight hourglassing and the dent is more prominent. So I am safe to assume that my uro basically told me nonsense when he says that hey you need plaque that shows on the ultra sound to have peyronies. I have deformity which I always had that is not normal curvature is has angle some twist in it. But now now it is bad. I have a new dent on the right side which was the healthy side.

As the days went by now that scar tissue is harder. Doubt Ved will do anything permanent as in reversing it nor anything else.

I was subconsciously trying for years to improve the scar tissue on my left side, massaging, without knowing it I was taking the supplements as in vit e, arginine, carnitine, cq10 inadvertently in the past. If it did not work then I cannot see how one can dissolve scar tissue that cannot even touch. Anyway it is depressing to say the least and if I do not see positive improvement in the next few months with traction, VED (which is already embarrassing for me to have to go through this) and oral meds then it is game over. Just too damn much and no I aint gonna go through life with such a thing or compromise.

james1947

Andros

The game is not over even the oral medications, VED and traction does not help.
You still have the surgery option. It is the last resort in my opinion, but it is there.

Now that I have the new scar tissue on the right side of my penis now that I have that same pain feeling when erect and that feeling of tightness and constriction I have understood the magnitute of my peyronies. I thought I had congenital curvature but it is not just that. Despite all that surgery was never a thought because it is obvious that the dissadvantages are inmense.

Shortening. Who want that? Erectile dysfunction etc. Penis implant well I was reading a blog with people who had it and it is bad. Unfortunately surgery is not even standarised.

You see things differently. Compromised older in age. I do not and should not because that is how time works. This is some aging process. Not some wrinkle or any of that kind of stuff. This is the single worst thing that can happen to a man who is not terminally ill.

james1947

Just one point Andros:
Many man, young as 19, went on the implant way to solve they problems. Not just old farts.  ;D
But of course, is your choice as we are talking about your dick.  :)

Andros I almost wish you were not so good at expressing what I feel.

Nothing against James.  He is only speaking truth. But I completely understand your feelings. No man your age expects to have to contemplate the kind of possibilities you are, and for older men it's easy to forget about the amount of worry-free sex they have already enjoyed. Although again I will say it's far from easy to let go of that at any age.

I do however believe that you are spending more time than necessary thinking the worst. Very few Peyronie's sufferers (as far as we seem to know from this forum) have to resort to an implant, and not very many opt for any type of surgery. There are enough success stories here to give you a reasonable hope of being one, particularly given the amount if effort you are putting into fighting this. I believe (and trust me I am speaking to myself here as much as you) that you need to put conscious effort into maintaining hope and a positive attitude as long as it is reasonable to do so. I know it's not easy. Stop thinking about surgery and implants. You are a long long ways from that situation.

Andros

It is not about resolving to an implant or not. Do you think that is the best thing to have dents all over your penis and a curve even at 15 or so degrees and a slight twist like I have and feel constricted and tight during erections like I do?

Who says that the only problem is resolving to surgery. What I have understood the last few days is that everything recommended is anecdotal.

Literally everything. I feel like crap. Literally. I mean I am no kid. I am 28. I do not need someone in his 50s or 60s to act as father figure or anything like that. What I know is that I have an hourglass on my penis now. I do not feel fine with the way it is. So F~@< that. And offcourse the miraculous VED and pentox.

Well why no pictures. Why no before and after? And how do they know that it is permanent if any improvement they saw those who saw it.

Let me tell you something. This mentality because it hits older men and there is no money in it, and they say hey I have a 4 inch dick roughly after pumping due to peyronies and I have lost this and that from my penis as if this is suppose to be fine or normal, this another thing that does not contribute towards any sort of solution.

The "trials" are a joke. Come on now 10 people or 15 participants not randomly chosen? I have a tight feeling on my penis now as if there is a rope.

Given that it is no ones fault here. There has been advice here but I am not dummy. I do not expect anything from subsequent Ved or tractions. Ved is for ED. I Cannot see how in a year from now A dent that is there because scar tissue has formed it will go away. Have you ever heard of a scar being eliminated elsewhere on the body. No. Remodelled and what does remodelled mean. Just another vague term.

loloc

Except for the 15 degrees and 28 which are more than 30ยบ and 24 y.o. in my case, I thought exactly the same as you Andros, in every aspect of the last post. But those belong to my negative thoughts part.

My life has become pretty crappy  since peyronies appeared, but my final reasoning is always the same: we are all going to die anyway, so it doesn't make sense to kill your self, when your dead it's going to be the same no matter what you have done in your life, but until then maybe casually happens something that makes your life better, and then you'll be very happy you stayed alive.

So if you are not going to kill yourself you have to give everything you can in your life and be positive, no complains, do all the best to try to cure this disease, PT VED Pentox or whatever and meanwhile, when you do other activities don't even think of it.

Life is like having a crappy  job. If you don't like it, wether you quit or you stay. But if you stay you don't complain about it, it would be like staying in the middle, which is the worst decision. The only difference is that in life if you quit you can't look for another one, so you'll better stay without complaining.

Sorry for the chunter, this also was for me.

Keep calm, and pump it up

Andros

I am trying everything. Already spent a small fortune on everything. I am waiting for a Cylinder for the pump and the one I got is pretty expensive but that does not chagne anything does it. Andropenis should be here in a matter of days. The reason I added potaba is not because it works but because there is indication that it might in early stages so what the heck. Pentox obviously and I take at least 6 tabs a day. Cialis and now vits carnitine is there.

Members here have been extremely helpful especially James and Old Man but after pming a lot of members who are not active there response is that mostly they saw no results or got worse or mild improvement. So the reality is that once you get it you get it and there is not way of knowing whether anything will help. I am putting time and effort in it already I am loosing a summer feel depressed and lost all my confidence. But I do not have all the time in the world. 6 months a year? I do not think that pulling my penis or pumping it (ah yeah they call it a VED) if I am not where I want to be I will not keep going because there I am fulling my self.

Having a bad job, loosing a relationship etc is not the same as loosing your penis. Because you know you can do it again. Loosing your penis though or having it distorted or this or that is the single worse thing a man can have. The reason others might think otherwise is because they have compromised. Imagine going with a woman you being perfectly healthy and when you see her down there she is deformed (if there was something equivalent for women). What would you do? You would put your penis back inside and run as fast as you could. Well that is how it is for a man also. Time will show but time is not indefinite for me at least. It is very precious. Two weeks a month a year of compromise is more than enough.

loloc

I disagree in the fact that nothing can makes it better. The same way training can turn a heartbeat in rest from 80 bpm to 40 bpm by increasing it's capacity, or increase lung capacity as well, or leg flexibility, those parts have a lot of blood vessels, if they can be deformed according to your wishes, why couldn't also your penis do? The objective is to achieve what you do to your heart when you are training, but with your penis, and if after a while there's still some deformity, plication is always there.
I believe many got better, but almost every user connected here are in the suffering part, when the results are still not seen.
It also happened to me in those other cases. I did sport all my youth and never got to reach my feet when stretching hamstring muscles, but it wouldn't be correct to say you can't do, maybe I didn't stretched long enough.

loloc

Actually, I have just read that even the bones can also be deformed, we get a new skeleton every 7 years. So don't think of any deformity as definitive.

Well then I'll guess that you will be learning a lot about compromise in the coming years.

Stabler

Andros,

I'm sorry but do I understand you to say that if you came across a woman that had a deformation of some kind in her female region you would pack up your penis and go home? And are you using that as your justification for needing to have your penis "fixed"?

If I have misunderstood please, accept my apology, if I have not, and I want to be tactful about this, then I would have to say the problem doesn't lie within your penis, and the relationship you may be looking for is not one based on love because you are assuming that if your penis and apparently her vagina weren't "correct" there could be no relation. I find that very sad and again.please accept my apology if I have misunderstood what you wrote.

Andros

Well Stable and James you are correct. You see at my age and generation this is how it is. And most share what I am saying. You have to be healthy as a man and your penis at least mine is very important. I cannot compromise it. It is not just about relationships. It is essentially a major part of your idendity so you need it to be healthy. Plication and shortening is not the way to go. It is sad that so little have been invested in a disease like peyronies and that options are so limited and uncertain. I tought I had congenital curvature and I was not aware I actually had peyronies since puperty essentially. I noe feel the scar issue all over and I understand why I have some pain when fully errect. Judging that all the years there has not been any change in shape I doubt I will improve the new one. My big fear is that it can get worse. I was of the idea that the penis cannot grow but also cannot shrink either. Apparently the later is not true. Ihave a new indentation and pain.

As to relationships I express the hard truth and reality for the majority especially at my age.

It is sad there is no voice for actual cure or treatment without surgery.l and that people are forced to choose operation essentially.

james1947

I have many friends from your generation and your age, on the forum and in my "outside forum" life, even I am 67 already.
They are thinking about life very different than you Andros.
It is connected maybe to your character and the way you grow up.

Skjaldborg

Andros,

I took pentox and it worked very well. It got rid of my pain and I'm now about 95% what I was before the disease size-wise. My curvature is very minimal and my girlfriend said she couldn't tell there was any deformity until I told her. My erectile performance is the best it's ever been and sex is awesome; I'm definitely a better lover than I was in my 20s. There is the potential that I could get re-injured, but for the most part Peyronie's is no longer a big part of my life.

Healing from injuries - any injury - takes time. Professional athletes take weeks and months off for shoulder injuries, etc. You need to accept the fact that it will take a long time to see improvement. There is no fast cure, none. Your impatience and frustration will not serve you well. I suggest speaking with counselor or psychiatrist to deal with the stress from the disease; I did and it was very helpful.

Be. Patient.

Well Stable and James you are correct. You see at my age and generation this is how it is. And most share what I am saying.

I read every post made on this forum, and most times I try to sit back and stay objective. But sometimes things are said i just can't let go by without a response.

Andros,
You have little to no data to make some of your statements. "How it is" at your age is how you and your friends see it. Don't 'dis' your whole generation base on how you look at life. Your world only comes to and end if you let it. You aren't the only 28 yo with an "Anything other than normal" penis (whatever that is). You came here seeking advice and much was offered. But it doesn't seem to match up with your own research and perspective. That's fine.... it's your penis and you make the final decisions.

Those of us still on the forum are here because we want to help others. We offer advice and in some cases opinions (anecdotal or not). I wish there was a sure fire quick answer for this disease but it does't exist. And everyone's situation is different.

Frankly some of your posts don't make sense and in some cases contradict each other. You first came here posting how you first injured yourself a few weeks ago by pushing the side of your erection. And you want an overnight fix. Guys have been on here for months before the saw the first signs of improvement. And now you refer to that maybe you had a congenital curve since puberty and living with this for long time.

So honestly, I'm confused and trying to keep with you drains me and others on the forum. I hope you are able to sort this out for yourself and able to find what you are looking for. I did.

Ok,

It was suggested to me that I not respond to this, however I felt that it was in my best interest to do so since I have made some good friends here and I would like to say my piece for them. I am a mother so this may come off as some motherly advise but given Andros age I feel it's appropriate.

First, Andros, your attitude of "how it is" for your age range is not that of the general population, I have a son in your age range and trust me he does not share your attitude regarding his penis and having it be the be all and end all of his life, and in case you are wondering yes, I have talked to he and his wife about this and while they said it would suck, they said they would work around it and find a way but they did not share your attitude.

Second, as I said I have been watching your posts for some time and I have seen the advice that has been given by the members here, all very good advice that in most cases you have either ignored or argued or left then came back with information to contradict them. Your symptoms vary from mild to extreme and at times you say one thing and then try to back pedal when someone with good knowledge of the topic questions you on it. I have to tell you that as a mother, this behavior has made me question if you actually have Peyronies and if you aren't just here posting for attention.

This forum, is an outstanding place where good men, gentlemen, come to help each other, so far I have not seen you help, I have not even seen you offer words of encouragement and I have not seen you take any help that was offered. You do understand that as a woman, I do not have Peyronies disease but that I am here for my man, that I support him and encourage him, but I found your comment about how you would treat a woman should her vagina be deformed offensive and it was offensive for you to assume or include that all women feel the same way about men who may have a curvature or some other issue with their penis because of Peyronies. Not only offensive to women but to the gentlemen in this forum, the one who have tried to help you.

So as a mother, I am going to suggest that if you are going to continue to post here, take time and think about what you want to ask or think about what you are going to say before you actually put in the forum, If you really do have Peyronies, take the advice from the gentlemen that have had it for years, don't presume that you know more, don't ask them questions then come back here with things from other places to say they are wrong., you are asking for help from men who live with this day in and day out, they have no reason to lie to you.

If you don't have Peyronies, and you are just looking for attention, then leave the forum and let these gentlemen help each other.

Admin can certainly delete this if they feel they need to, I wont be angry about it, I am just giving my honest opinion.

Let me cleara few things. 1st I now know that I do not have congenital curvature because I can discern the scar tissue.

As to the relationship aspect I am talking to a degree where it affects you. If you cannot perform chances are that you will be abandoned. Lets not turn this into something else other than peyronies.

By ancdotal I mean that there is no science. Offcource advice here is great but I cannot be certain I will improve and not get worse or that results will be permanent. I do not doubt the improvements people here had or have but I also received lots of pms where thinks got worse and they feel the same as me.

As to visiting a pcychatrist forget it. I do not want ti go into detail but the real proble. Is peyronies. 20 days ago my Life was going as planned. Now there is new scar tissue. New indendation and pain.

Whatever my convictions are are based of cource on real life experience and of people around me. Be it personal or not no one can afford to go through life without his penis or a deformed one  in this case.

loloc

It's not just that you can go through life, it's that you have no other choice. Those are the cards that you've been given, like it or not. Bad players will always fold with cards lower than queen, good players can win a hand with 2 7.

I'm sorry,

Gentlemen I was going to write something here but I feel it is best that we allow Andros to solve his issue on his own, he seems to have the answers HE wants and this group of men has allot of information to provide to members who will accept it. I feel you will be better served to offer it to those members. If God suddenly took this mans penis away to remove his "Peyronies" and gave him a vagina in its place he would then have something new to complain about even though the Peyronies would be gone. His problem is NOT the disease (if he has it) its the look, the "social status" as it is of his penis.

I am finished responding to Andros, Gentlemen.
Love to all of you.

I would say that I am amazed at the answers but really I am not. One suggest a vagina so that one can have another thing to worry about. The other says do whatever treatment you wish.

What seems to be the problem is inability to understand from those who do not understand. Many pmed me after asking them whether they saw any improvement or not and they feel just the way I do. And they saw no improvement.

If you feel fine or thing is normal just because you have no choice, to going from an 18 or 20 or however big it was I do not care to a 12 cm crooked hourglassed dented genital organ and say well to bad then you should be checked or I am afraid time worked against you.

As to treatment what treatment do you I am on. Whatever is being suggested here. Is there anything else? What I have said after learning about the disease and getting feedback not just moderators but others who appear to be inactive is that whatever is being suggested not just here but in general is essentially not guaranteed to work or produce results.

Just because I do not agree with you or do not see a positive side out of it does not mean anything. In the end of the day I understand that everyone here is on a voluntary basis he does not have to be nor is he obliged to give input.

Even my post are essentially pro bono because like many others here they will stay here they are in case I see improvement or not. Someone might see that in my case the pain lasted 2 weeks and it has resolved with pentox and nurophen and massaging everyday and manual stretching. But to recommend to another this just because it happened to me is not conclusive. After all whenever here states that he saw no results or got injured the usual response is "I am very sorry" Bald statement. Just like now. Whether anyone is suggesting or I am doing what ever there is to be done. I spent a fortune the last few days on taking crap I do not know where they take me just in blind faith. So I do not what the fuzz is all about. Maybe you should encourage all those who got worse or saw no results to come out and speak or say why the saw no results. Were they consistent were they not? In any case whatever anyone thinks wont affect the progression of my disease or lack of it so, I wait and see.

Jonbinspain

Stabler;

You're clearly a very bright, understanding lady. If every woman felt the same way, many guys on here would not have sunk into depression, or worse.

Every man has his certain amount of pride and self esteem. Yes, that should not be based around our penis, and in the vast majority of cases, it's not. Sure it's a large part of what defines our sexuality and so it's important to us. Personally, I've learnt to live with this. Having said that, I didn't contract this horrible affliction until the age of 60 ish. Had it happened to me at say 21 would I have felt like my life was ruined, bitter, resentful, "why me" etc?  Possibly.

There is also the difficulty in treating this disease. When you first realise something is wrong you think, assume, that medical science will have an answer. As we all found out, it does not. Worse still, many of the medical profession don't treat Peyronies seriously. Because, in most cases, the physical manifestations are not too limiting or general health threatening, the mental damage is overlooked.

Then there is the enigma of the disease. Medical science cannot even pin down the cause(s) of it definitively, let alone treat it. Every case is different, what works for one doesn't for another, etc. guys new to this naturally want help- they want answers. We try to help and give the best answers that we have. For some, those answers are of help and they realise that we all give our time freely to try and help, others in the same situation and are appreciative of that.  Others are impatient, wonder why advice they were given doesn't seem to work, etc. impatience will get you nowhere with Peyronies, we're all in a marathon, not a sprint. Some realise and accept that, others won't or can't.

kuaka

Very well put Jonbinspain.  I needed to hear that.

Andros

Jobinpain said it well. Too much crap is too much crap. For me at least this is too much and I have had a lot.

Today I noticed it got worse 20 days roughly after it started. The dent looks more like an hourglass and the curve on the right side is now worse despite the meds. Still waiting the traction device ans cylinder but I am not optimistic. I have had scar tissue on the left side and nothing changed it through the years.

To simply put it if you get cancer you possibly could get a date at least.

Now this? This is on a game on its own but I compare with amputation of the worst kind.

Andros

Just received andropenis so I will be adding traction to pentox vit e and potaba. The dent has caused hourlassing and the curve i had on the left side of the penis is now the same on the right. I can feel a scar ring runnign deep on the right side of my penis. Traction program seems very dfficult to attain but I will try. Still waiting for the cylinder to arrive for Ved. Now that I can see the damage done I can say that my confidence with people is lost as I feel the scar tissue and see the deformity especcially when erect.
