Had the disease since I was 14, I am 27 now.. Lost 2 inches. Reason I hadn't gotten fixed before cuz I was trying to find a good doctor but couldn't find one in my area that insurance covered also it's been hard for doctors to see my problem because the plaque/bend is towards the very very base of the penis where the natural bend is. And it confuses doctors, one couldn't comprehend that the bend could be somewhere other than the direct middle of the penis. I hadnt been able to have sex for 7 years and had 5 girlfriends cheat on me because my penis was aligned and it caused PE because of pain and anxiety and the doctor was so stupid he couldn't see there was a problem although my penis head was an exact 90 degree bend from where my penis starts to purtrude. I showed pictures of it being bend, and it looks all twisted, but other pictures where I had less of an erection it looked much straighter and he couldn't comprehend that the bend gets worse when the erection increases - his incompetence was staggering.  Anyways had the disease for 12 years. I went from a 6 inch penis to a 4 inch penis. Wondering if I should do exercises although my penis hurts the day afterwards (and not while doing it) and I get a ring on it. I'd like to do the pump excercises to increase length before I go into doctors for surgery. Does pumping really increase length or am I wasting my time? I feel like I should just go in for surgery because I've spent 12 years backing off to do something to increase length and since than I went from losing half an inch to 2 inches. Maybe just stop waiting is the thing I need to do? Whats your opinion on what I should do right now? Go get surgery, or try to increase length? Or do you think it's too risky both in time and damage I could cause. ALso wondering if there is any good Peyronies doctors in AZ.

Find a competent Urologist, there's alist on the site. The doctor you've seen is either a complete idiot or doesn't care. If you're sure by feeling when flaccid that there is plaque there, then you need an ultrasound to determine the extent of any plaque.

You can read more about various treatments for the disease, the curvature, etc, here on the site. But first, get a proper diagnosis.

Accurate diagnosis is a must in order to develop a correct treatment approach.  Suggestions on treatments prior to such a diagnosis are "shots in the dark" at best.

The only one from Arizona we have in the list is:
Scottsdale (Phoenix), Arizona - Desiderio Avila, Jr. MD .

Many known doctors in California if you can get there.

Guys i have been diagnosed in the past... Many times.. Guess I was just so pissed about that particular doctor apt I just had to bring it up.
He told me everything was fine, after 5 years of not being able to have sex and severe pain and continued to have sex because of him and sustained and another major injury. I think about it everyday, why did I listen to him - I knew he was wrong?
Is that guy from Az any good? James? This is important. Please let me know.

According to one forum members he is good, his opinion is written on the file in the link.
For me, a doctor that prescribes Pentox, low dose Cialis and VED sounds to have knowledge.
More than that I can't say as I had never any contact with this doctor so I can't take personal responsibility on the subject.

I'm looking for somebody who can do grafting surgery, is he somebody that can do that? If not, do you have any recommendations?

james1947

I don't know more than we have on the doctors list about Dr. Desiderio.
The link to the doctors list I have posted a few posts bellow.

Thanks for that info James. Do you guys think VED may increase length? I have lost 2 inches? I feel like it's important to increase length before I go for surgery? Or do you think it carries to much risk if the plaque is giant? How does VED increase length? Is it by breaking up the plaque? If so, maybe breaking up the plaque will make surgery harder for the doctors? I seem to have lost another 2 centemeters since writing this.. Just want to some info on how VED can help, I know some of you may think - ask a doctor. But doctors know less than you guys, me relying on doctors is what got me in this mess in the first place. Would like to know if I should try VED, and if so how it could help, and how it could hurt? And just want to know some info..
I could have been doing VED this whole time, but because of some puffiness and a ring around my non-hurt side of the penis caused others telling me to stop. I'm thinking maybe I shouldn't? All I know is I been waiting for "answers" for the last 14 years and haven't gotten any so I been waiting and doing nothing as this gets worse and worse. Would like to know some info on how VED actually helps before I try it again, and would like to know if you guys recommend it or recommend I stop stalling and just go into for surgery.

Old Man is the resident VED expert, but if you do VED, the key is to not be overly aggressive.  You want to "gently" stretch on the plaque as you infuse the area with fresh blood, let off and repeat.  If you evacuate too much, with too much vacuum, you can cause lots of issues...from rupturing blood vessels to stimulating additional scar growth in the plaque to a few others.  Moderation is the key, and consistency...which will not be possible without moderation.  As with all statements here, just opinion.
